    Story:

Today, I went to Great Lakes Dragway in Union Grove, WI to watch a few of the Maximas I know run. For the most part, the runs were pretty decent but I was paying a lot of attention to the other cars that were running.

One of my favorite cars that ran was a Lexus SC 300 with a TT Supra Motor that was ran a best of 10.4 in the quarter. Right behind that was one of two black `71 Chevelles that ran 10s in the quarter consistently and did a lot of wheelstands.

However, one of the strongest runners of the day was a yellow Z06 Corvette. This car was running 11-12 second quarters consistently. At any rate, I was in the parking lot talking with one of the WI Maxima owners about MFs and other detailing goodies when I heard the most hellacious bang. I turned around and saw a large plume of black smoke and some flame. Pretty soon, a crowd of folks ran over to the track to see what was going on.

    End result:

Apparently, the driver sprayed too soon and the nitrous went kaboom.

Was this a black on black Lexus from TX? If so did you notice his detailing job?

Sprayed too soon? How did the car get to that spot? That looks pretty hellacious I might say.

Had to be pushed from the track. The other side was worse and the interior was pretty bad, too.

Ugh..I can imagine how that guy feels. We had this tricked out Supra show up for our Z meet. The car stalled in front of all of the Z`s and the guy couldn`t get it started. He had to push it away...

Here is a link to a video of the Z06 going `boom`.

Caution: There is a bad language-my understanding is the person holding the camera had more than a few drink and his commentary, to say the least, is a bit `colorful`. If cursing offends you, either don`t download or watch with the volume off.
