Oh boy, makes me think of tha movie `The day after`

Today is probably the 5th or 6th rainy day of this year!!!! Two days ago we were heating at around 30º C, two weeks ago it was -2 ºC......Where`s this going to?

And for the first time in 11000 years the Climanjaro mountain doesn`t have ice or snow.....:nixweiss

Know the feeling, but here its the first day of spring and we`ve gotten 4-5 inches of snow in the last 24 hours, with another 3-4 inches on the way. O btw, about 5 years ago on yesterdays date, the temperature was 75 degrees F

The past few winters here have been warmer and dryer than usual. We`ve had some nice summers too.

You can hate me for saying this, but I can`t get enough global warming...

My car would idle day and night if I thought there was anything to the global warming crap. I hate winter, I hate cold temperatures and I would gladly take 105 degree average highs in the summer if it would be warmer in the winter.

Besides, a longer growing season would help with world hunger issues. Of course, the added vegetation would take in CO2 and give off oxygen and cause temperatures to cool again.

I still remember in the 70s all the scientists who claimed we were headed for another ice age. They were wrong then and I`m willing to bet good money they are wrong now.

I wonder how they know that this is the first time there has not been any snow for 11,000 years on Kilimanjero? Sounds like junk science to me.

There`s probably some way of telling that through rock/sediment layers, or some type of record existing in the rock.

Geologists can tell how many times the Earth`s magnetic field has reversed and which pole was magnetic north just from looking at sedimentary rocks cemented with hematite (magnetic mineral).

There`s a lot of weird stuff they can figure out from the past.

I agree with Scott`s post plus does anyone realize we are talking about a 0.5 degree rise in the next 100 years?

I remember that too! The same group of scientists, with very little "proof", claimed that the earth was cooling and that it meant the end of the world!! :soscared: Now they`ve reversed themselves 180 degrees and claim the "new" end of the world will be caused by warming. And of course, both disasters would be caused by pollution, etc. It`s amazing how so many people are willing to swallow these" facts", simply because the media regurgitates it over and over.

You`ll have to educate a southern boy...

There`s life north of the Mason-Dixon line???

    :p

I`d like to point out, that it had better not rain next week, because I`m on break and Mother Nature has no excuse not to make it sunny for once all year...

I only made it up there once this winter (the rest was WV, PA, and MD), but Vermont is actually the South. I`d like to trade it for Florida.
