A new ice arena that opened up only 10 -15 minutes away has what they call "father and son pond hockey" every Saturday afternoon for 2 hours. Bascially, dads (or moms) and their hockey playing kid(s) can get together on the ice with other hockey families for a couple hours of old fashioned pond hockey. No real rules, no refs, no score keeping.....just playing a kids game and having fun.

I took my son there today and we had a blast. We split the 12 or so people into two teams and forgot all about everyday routines, responsibilities and stressors. Even though I`m SORE AS HELL right now it was the best therapy for the mind and spirit one could ever imagine.

We`ll be regulars there on Saturday afternoons. Now I need to get my daughter on the ice. Unlike my son, who wouldn`t harm a fly, my daughter will body check you into the seats if you give her half a reason. She`s quite the tenacious 7 year old girl LOL. I just need to make sure she`s on my team.
