IMO we need to dial back the use of the Politically Correct label. It`s gotten to the point that merely being considerate/courteous/polite gets that. Like, "disagree with my boorish behavior and you`re PC!", usually spoken by somebody who has zero real first-hand experience with genuine Political Correctness.
I`ve been criticized...*CRITICIZED as being PC*...for saying "Happy Holidays" to somebody! Like...my hope that somebody, regardless of their World View, has a nice Holiday Season was grounds for some, uhmm...rather unfiltered criticism (by somebody whom I presume fancies himself a Christian).
I know *DEVOUT* Christians who don`t celebrate Christmas (they don`t consider it "Biblical"). I know Jews who *DO* celebrate Christmas right along with Hanukkah. I know atheists who celebrate *all* of the various holidays of this time of year..if in their own secular ways...and are filled with happiness, joy, and love for their fellow man. What`s to criticize about any of those folks and what`s to criticize if I cover all the bases with "Happy Holidays"?
