Well, it`s a bad year for BH *relative to the rest of the overall market*. So their results aren`t a reflection of the overall economy IMO. He`s all about long-term results anyhow; if I had children/grandkids I`d probably still have some BH.

Partially agree, partially disagree..........

He is arguably the smartest investor on the planet. Granted he is all about long term, but such a big loss, I do believe is indicative of the overall economy strength.

Eh, I just don`t see it as a truly bad year for BH, given their overall Operating Results. To me, it was just a "bleeds/leads" type of "news" story. No % in it for the pundits to print a less critical article

I`m not really a huge Buffett fan, but if I held a big stake in BH I wouldn`t be worried. He sometimes takes sorta contrarian positions, and now and then it bites him in the short-term.

It`s been a weird year for a lot of investments....it happens.
