    Re: The "Really ?!?!?!?!" Thread

Here in NC, the GOP controls both houses and has made a big deal about lowering income taxes (generally at the highest tax rate). However, there have more quietly raised taxes on many services. Most of these affect small/medium business and lot of these are likely done on cash basis (no tax reported).. If a Dem raised these, it would be a different story.

This means detailers really need to collect taxes.

Bunky- Thanks for bringing that to my attention, hadn`t noticed it previously. Sigh...bad news for me as I see it from the consumer`s perspective and Car Repairs, Clothing Alterations, and Shoe Repairs are some of the little ways that I, uhm... help stimulate the economy. With any luck the Tombstone bit won`t be a factor for a while yet...

Wow! How much did this gadget cost vs. paying the toll? Not to mention the fines he`s now facing! Dummy.

With the tax conversation, im actually in favor of expansion of sales tax since it presents fewer loopholes and work arounds for illegals and the billionares. The money has to be collected somehow, and its hard to run a country when theres too many ways for people not to pay.

Its hilarious how the left advocates throwing more money at the school systems to fix the problem. We already spend more than just about anyone else with terrible results. Clearly, spending doesn`t accomplish what we think it does.

Well, at least it counters my "don`t they have anything better...more productive... to do?" argument. Depending on how ya define "better" and/or "productive".

I just can`t imagine what sort of functionally beneficial outcome they expect to bring about. What...Trump`s gonna resign or something? Just more desperate-to-feel-good [individuals] with screwy priorities confusing motion with progress IMO.

I wonder if people accepting this offer will report the income to their local Unemployment Compensation Office?

They should randomly pull protesters from the crowd and check to see if they`re receiving any public assistance; if so, toss `em off the gravy train.
