Friends don`t let Friends have dealers detail thier cars!

So This is a great friend of mine who knows nothing about detailing. He just came by to show me his new car and ask me about paint protection. This is a 2012 Jet black BMW 335d with 674 miles on it. Right when he pulled in I gasped I saw it from the street. LOVE DEALERSHIPS! What you guys think? Call and make them pay me my hourly to fix it? My buddy sure doesn`t want that bill. Hmmm I`ll keep ya updated

    poor little car

    Hopefully corrected pics coming soon

Inexcusable! And yet par for the course. I doubt the dealership will spring for it, but I would definitely let them know you will be using this as an advertising campaign with their name prominently featured.

Yeah... I don`t think I could bash them. I don`t like the Ideal of talking bad and mentioning specific names. I think that just ends up making me look bad because I have throw some one under the bus. I`d be sneaky about it lol "It`s a new BMW and the dealer wrecked it" I`ll let who I`m telling decide which dealer it is and if they ask me i`ll say not sure but it is a BMW lol

It`s a good thing I`m on my phone. There are not enough Smiley expressions to describe what I`m thinking. Are you sure that`s not some sort of disco theme finish option?
One day I`ll get to do my own car.

Their prewash must have been sand and dirt. Oh and a wool pad on a rotary at 2000rpm. I can`t believe it.

Hey now, don`t be knocking my work! I`ll have you know it took me all of 45 minutes to buff that car.

Just kidding (obviously)! Geesh, what some people pass off as detailing.

You must be paid by the hour. Quality like that shouldn`t take more than 15 minutes. What? Are you wasting time washing it first?

isn`t there a 3 day return law? If so have him return it or have them pay for the needed work.

Re: Friends don`t let Friends have dealers detail thier cars!

This is known as DISO = Dealer Installed Swirl Option.
Sadly, $tealerships do not care about the paint finish.

I recently was looking to purchase a "new" car.
It was the manager`s "demo" car with 4,500 miles.
It was a dark grey (almost black) and was like the pics.
The hacks in the $tealership detail department ruined it.

They wanted $3x,xxx for it and it was totally covered.
I showed them before and after pics with descriptions.
I explained I liked the car but it would take me 20+ hours
At $40 per hour that`s $800 paint correction time for fix it.
If they would reduce the vehicle by that much I`d buy it.

The salesman spoke to the "manager" and he didn`t care!
It`s buy/sell a product to them. They don`t care about you!
You would think that spending that kinda money they`d care.

The manager refused my offer and said "You buy it, you fix it."
Two days later they sold the car in the exact same condition.
The unsuspecting buyer (like most folks) didn`t see the issues.

It wasn`t a Beemer but I believe ALL $tealerships have the same attitude.
Just like your friend, if the buyer doesn`t catch it before, they don`t care!
The "best" the $tealership may offer him is for them to detail the vehicle.
This will be done by the same hacks that trashed the paint in the first place.

Basic Rule: NEVER let a dealership touch your paint. No wash, No Wax & No Detail.
I have done quite a few cars (some with less than 50 miles) that $tealerships trashed.
