    Hello everyone...

I am new to the forum, and very excited to get all of your expert advice. I am going to BF for the first time in a few weeks. My procedure is going to be....Dawn wash, apply SMR, BF Polish, and then the protectant. My question is, should I dawn again after the SMR? I would appreciate an advice on BF. Thank you all.

Im kinda new to this also. I have 4 coats of BF with Blitz as a topper. From what I understand the

BF polish should remove any oils left by the SMR so I would say that you dont need to Dawn wash again....Im sure someone will correct me if Im wrong

I`m no expert in Blackfire but I don`t think the SMR would have done any better for my car than what the Blackfire did. Just the polish and protectant did an awesome job. A dawn wash isn`t a bad idea. The polish will clean up anything the Dawn misses. You are really going to like Blackfire though. It is way good stuff. :xyxthumbs If you do use SMR I don`t think there is any need to Dawn wash again. If you want to rinse the car or just use regular car wash soap, that`ll be okay but I don`t think the Dawn will be neccessary.

I have used SMR by hand and it left a good bit of residue behind as well as some fillers. The BF polish will clean it off, but there is no reason to make the polish remove another polish . . . I would definitely Dawn wash.

I actually had to wash some parts of my car twice after SMR application because there were some fillers left behind that were making my car bead, but I wash very gently.

As you may know I am not a fan of this Dawn wash after every polish technique. I personaly think its overkill, plus, as one of our most respected and knolegable members, Ron Ketcham stated, using a caustic, alkaline cleaner repeatedly is not especially good for the paint (dont want to bring up the Dawn debate again) so you want to keep your Dawn washes to a minimum or zero (i never feel I need to). The BF polish should clean up what ever the SMR left behind, but if you want to be completely sure, wash the car with your regular car wash. I thinkyour time though s better spent layerng the protectant, but if you have the time to do both, go ahead. Good luck with the BF, I agree woth the others, its awesome!

You will not be disappointed with Blackfire. It is easy to apply and remove. Once you are finished you will be very pleased with the amazing shine your vehicle has. Blackfire may be a little pricey but it is definitely worth the money.
