That`s an interesting article. I have never had a Matte finish car before...come to think of it I think I may have only seen one...ever.

That finish looks like the same one that Harley puts on some of its bikes. Its called denim finish designed to look like the blue jeans material. There is no shine to speak of and you clean the surface with Windex according to the HD web site

I think the comments are funny in that article, BMW drivers, Audi drivers are jerks...no way man it`s the Volvo driver`s who are jerks...etc. Just silly. I used to think like that but have come to the conclusion that money in general just gives "some" people a sense of entitlement. As for the paint, I just hope that this matte finish doesn`t become trendy.

BMW - The Ultimate STATUS Machine...haha, I keed, I keed

I always thought matte paint looked cool on show cars, I can`t imagine having it on anything close to a DD tho. There`s no hiding anything on matte paint.

Why don`t they just add a mileage per/year limitation, and say you can`t drive it outdoors...
    It`s a habit...and I`m OK with that...

They should have provided a disclaimer with the `07 Jet Black 3-Series except it would have said, "You can never touch the car or breathe near it. Don`t even park it in a stiff breeze or the finish will swirl."

Even sometimes I, in a moment of what could only be described as pure sanity, question the rationality of this obsession.
