Nice save!! I did that on a snow covered road back in highschool, and don`t want to do it again. I was only going 50mph, had the shakes for a while though.
For some reason i didn`t think a black car would be that bad...:hairpull

Your Friend is an AWESOME driver.

That happened to me in the snow a couple of months ago. Unfortunately my tire blew, it was icy, and i couldn`t save it. Fortunately, There was a mile market sign to slow my down and prevent me from hitting the rock wall. The car is ok... thankfully it was my winter beater. I don`t know what I would have done if it was my Impala.

hoooooollllyyyyyyy 5h!7. that scared the crap outta me just watching! something very similar happened to me today. Was driving my new project car, a 93 miata. Went off on a sales call to a local car-wash. Noticed that my shoes felt a bit slippy after walking around the tire shine-soaked pavement and took that into consideration when I pulled out. Made sure nobody was coming cuz I know how tail-happy my car is. came out onto the highway sideways and drove around for 10 minutes trying to get that crap off my tires.

Thank god or higher power your friend is alright. and thank god he knows how his car behaves!

Good save, But he was overdoing it with steering wheel. Thats what most people do wrong. But its different when you plan to drift and when your panic drifting. I learned alot from driving like a maniac in the wintertime. sliding all over the place oaccasionaly hitting snowbanks on the side of the road. but it was a beater and it didn`t matter. and it was a good lesson that saved my 100k dollar supra from being a wreck last year. It wasnt oil, but someone had lost some gravel in a tight turn and I went sideways for quite some time. But it never got on tape

I had a similar thing happen to me when I was in high school. Was driving a Plymouth Valiant no more than 40mph on a slick road, the car suddenly did a 180 right by a row of parked cars. Fortunately I managed to avoid hitting them and went on my. It scared the crap out of me for a few minutes. Found out the rear tires were slick.
If you do not change what your doing today, tomorrow will be no different.
