    Carnauba wax in candy???

I just finished a pack of Wonka`s Everlasting Gobstoppers and noticed that there is carnauba wax in the ingredients. And of course, being the detailer that I am, I started to wonder what type of protection and shine my esophagus and stomach have now. Has anyone else noticed carnauba in anything else they eat?
If you can read this, thank a teacher. If you can read this in English, thank a soldier.

    Ummm no...

well at least your esophagus will bead up nicely and should help pass everything through...

After I say that I went and looked it up...

    Wiki:

In foods, it is used as a formulation aid, lubricant, release agent, and surface finishing agent in baked foods and mixes, chewing gum, confections, frostings, fresh fruits and juices, gravies, sauces, processed fruits and juices, soft candy and tic tacs.

In addition, carnauba wax is used in Swedish Fish candy as an alternative to gelatin.

I wonder how much carnuba is in it...I may start layering the some frosting on my car and check for depth.

I heard about it years ago when I was in school.
I almost choked when I heard that I was eating car wax on my candy bars, and now comes along Steve who makes me want to eat it right out of the jar

Carnauba is the shiny shell on candy like tic-tacs and your gobstopers. It is also the shiny coating on medical pills. I believe it is a primary ingredient in laxitives too. Gotta shine up the ole plumbing once in awhile I guess, eh? lol (I`m not even going to LOOK for the right smiley for that comment )

I watched the "How it`s made" program the other day and saw them making jaw breakers and they said they added carnauba wax at the end to give the shiny coating. They do it with fruit too.

Why are buying the expensive wax from a store or internet site? Just take a handful of candy, crush it in a blender and rub it on the car!
