Hi folks, can anyone tell me some basics of telescopes? My 5 year old daughter expressed interest and I`ve always been interested in the planets, stars etc

Where should i start? Any kits with some manuals?

I don’t know much but if you go to slickdeals and search for telescope, there are a lot of threads with awesome info. Mainly to stay away from the box store kits. I’ve almost fallen down the rabbit hole a few times.
