How does that saying go? Something like "Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity". Not that it makes much of a difference for the people who have to fix it...

Never underestimate the stupidity of people. Every so often the fuel pumps at work will go out due to an internet issue so we have to put cones infront of the pumps so the truck drivers won`t try and use them. Without fail we`ll get a call that they`re down again. What? Sure enough some yahoo will move the cones and proceed to try an refuel. They go absolute ballistic when I tell them they are down (like it wasn`t obvious before!) and will have to go literally 1 mile to the truckstop. I understand the fuel is cheaper as you get instant fuel subsidies filling up at the Hub, but it only takes a day to get that back if you fuel at the truckstop... It`s usually 1-3am, I`m in no mood to deal with drama queen truck drivers, you`re wasting my time especially if there`s a breakdown inside I really need to take care of! /rant

I mean, to be fair, a 1ft pylon doesn`t exactly scream "stay out!" The completely different colour asphalt sorta does though. Hahah.
Construction posts (like stanchions) with caution tape make much more of a statement.

YES!!!! I came here for this comment!
The question is whether it was simply a gate, in which there are some pointer cones missing. Otherwise the timing lights and the alternate colored cones for the start and finish lines are missing. Of course it could be an open slalom, in which case they missed all the cones and were DNF`d for that run.
I wonder what their time was and what type of PAX weighting a Sprinter van gets?
