    Unhappy Gas trimmer died.

Friday RIP. Old and I mean old Craftsman. 25+ years. LOL. I will try to fix before replace, but it was just not worth it. Replaced it today with a Homelite. Just got done this afternoon putting it together. Very easy. Gassed and started it. Nice unit for the price.

Good enough for what I use it for.

As soon as my gas-powered stuff dies, it gets replaced by a battery powered unit....just waiting for my Echo leaf blower to quit....

I did look at the new Worx revolution GT. Interesting 30min spot on tv. Looks to be a nice unit. Comes with 2 batteries. And claims a long run time. Almost pulled the trigger on it.

That`s what I`ve been doing. I currently have the Ego blower and just recently got the string trimmer. I was skeptical at first but both of them have been well worth it.

Heh heh, like most of my Stihl equipment, my trimmer dates to `88; it`s getting close to broken in.

I`d be happy to trade away my electric trimmer with two batteries for a gas trimmer. I hate the darn thing.

I hope its not as crappy as the Worx blower that I bought last year and returned a day later. I think I can blow air as fast as that thing did. My sidekick blaster is far more powerful.

I don`t want to deal with storing gas devices in my garage (aside from my car of course) but for $70 I might make an exception.

I went battery trimmer beginning of last year, so very glad I did. I love it and no more nasty stink while trimming or obnoxious noises either.

First time use today. I found nothing wrong with it. Good for my trimming. Good power.

    Re: Gas trimmer died.

On the subject, anyone have experience with ORBITRIM? Seems like a good alt. Years ago I used a head with those plastic blades. Complete junk. This however is steel.

Or anyone know of a good aftermarket one?

    Re: Gas trimmer died.

Probably last a couple seasons if you run trufuel through it or else the ethanol will kill that Home lite pretty quick
