Just jumped on the Autogeek 25% off with free shipping deal yesterday.

Picked up the large container of Tufshine, after I ran out of the small one, and other goodies.

Have three cars on the Tuf Shine diet already.
When I run out of the Z16, I`m using on the Infiniti, I`ll switch that one also.
Picked up their tire cleaner for when that time comes.

Also added some Sonax car shampoo.

Set aside some time! Took me forever to get to the clean, white TuffShine cleaner foam when doing Michelins that had been buried in Z16 for 3 years.

Huh, that`s interesting! I always thought of Z16 as a pretty "clean" Tire Slime. Cleaning off stealership stuff might`ve warped my perspective...(almost refused the MPV because they slimed the tires.."we didn`t wash it, just like you said, so what`s the problem?").

I always do a Double scrub on tires I`m switching over.
Thorough the first time, then same thing on the second go around.
I have a bucket of clean water and a sponge to completely clean off any overspray that gets on the rims after I rinse off the tires.

BudgetPlan1- Between you and Mary B I`m sure getting a positive impression of that TuffShine Tire Cleaner!

Marine Clerk- Eh, you`ve reminded me that I just pulled the summer wheels/tires off the A8 and the Tahoe and stuck `em in a corner without cleaning them up properly

Seems like I always do at least two passes on my tires during each maintenance wash and I still don`t really get `em clean. Too paranoid about stripping LSP from the wheels (the ones that aren`t coated) and surrounding areas I guess, still using that (too) gentle GG Rubber Cleaner for the time being.

Although the prep and initial application are a little more involved, it sure holds up. When it starts to fade after numerous months, just hit it with some of the cleaner and brush, dry and put some more on. I think I`ve applied it twice to our 7500 mile a year Corvette (driven in rain all the time but never winter) since July of 2016 (Michelin Pilot Sport tires) and it just keeps on keepin` on. Can control the level of gloss by how many coats ya do. It does seem to behave slightly differently (gloss) on different brands of tires but have not run into anything that would make me stop using it. Nice not to have to worry about nasty tire dressing applicators and slingin` dressings anymore.

Re: I do believe I`m being mocked...

BudgetPlan1- That Gloss Factor always gives me pause as I`m extremely picky and what I have now gives exactly what I want. Since SgtMajUSMC sent me his remaining Z16 it`ll be many years before I need to buy something, might have enough for this lifetime between the Griot`s, Pinnacle, and Z.

EDIT: Sling.. I *still* can`t recall ever having sling from a dressing that I applied. Not once and I was using the v1.0 Armor All back in the mid-70s so that`s a whole lotta tire sliming.

When I got my first set of white letter tires, Goodrich Radial T/A`s in 1979, I thought Armor All was magical. Scrub the letters with SOS pad, clean `em up start laying down the shiny goodness. Heck, we`d wipe everything down...seats, dashboard, interior panels.

A bucket, a bath towel, dishwashing soap, sponge and Armor All. Wash done.

Re: I do believe I`m being mocked...

BudgetPlan1- Once I figured out to cut it with a little water it wasn`t all that awful-shiny, well...OK...yeah, it was a *LOT* moreso than I`d want now, but hey...for back then it was the [stuff]. And just FWIW, I *never* experienced any of the damage people ascribed to the v1.0.

Heh heh, I tried a set of Radial T/As too, white letters showing and all Hey, as the song goes "I was just a dumb kid".

Re: I do believe I`m being mocked...

This was me in highschool to a T

I sorta wish I could go back to those days - little zipwax soap in a bucket, scrub the paint till it shined. interior wipe down with armor all wipe, and windex and paper towels on the glass. Feeling frisky? rub on some turtle wax with an old t-shirt.
