Re: A few weeks with weather tech floor mats

I can`t live with rubber mats in my Benz. OEM carpets and keep them clean for me.

That worked fine for us in the A8 for a long, long time.

I prefer carpet mats also, but with the sloppy winters here in SW PA you really need some protection or the entire carpeting gets wet. So I just put the carpeted mats in from April thru November.

Or else you need to do something almost daily. Doable IME, but a hassle to say the least. Thinking on this, I can`t say that we`ve ever had the carpet (other than the mats) get wet though.

Re: A few weeks with weather tech floor mats

I personally despise cloth car mats in winter conditions. I found the salt, sand, mud, etc made them really hard to clean up. If a car came with them, I`d use them until they wore out and I`d promptly move on to some rubber mats I can easily hose down, wipe off, and put back in the vehicle.

My wife is now running Weather Tech`s in her vehicle and loves them. We`ll never go back.

With my GTI the car came with both their OEM "Monster" all weather mats and the carpeted ones. I swap them out now at the same time I do my summer and winter wheels. The carpeted mats look better, so I have the best of both worlds!

Re: A few weeks with weather tech floor mats

I bought Weather Techs for my Camaro 5 years ago and last year I plum forgot to take them out and put the carpet mats in for the summer. I can`t believe how nasty they look after the winters are over and I am very happy I bought them. Mine would likely only hold not quite a 1/2" of water before spilling over the tab holders but that is plenty as I never got them that wet. I am just glad I don`t have to try and clean the carpet mats and the outside of the carpet around the cloth mats so I was glad to pay the price of them.
