We`re still awaiting power here unfortunately. It wouldn`t be so bad but a toddler makes things a little more difficult!

Glad everyone is safe in FL.

We`ve had rains and some winds here in North GA. Without power again for the 3rd time today. No internet and cable for the last 5 hours but that`s to be expected. Also a few downed trees in the area and one big one in the neighbours back yard dropped.

On another note - Candles are not needed when you have scangrip sunmatch light. Lol

Claw light lasted 16+ hours on a charge.

Thanks for the idea last year Paul.

    Re: Hurricane Irma

Lost power at 7:30 Sunday night, and the fun was just starting! Lots of wind and rain (over 10 inches dumped from my gauge between Saturday and Monday morning). The pond on the other side of my back fence is now draining down my side yard into the street. But no damage to the roof or house. The next door neighbor ran us a power line from his generator, so we can power the fridge, plus a fan or recharge devices.
My son near downtown Orlando never lost power (he may be on the grid with the Executive Airport). About half my co-workers reported no power this morning, but some have gotten juice since.

Crazy afternoon and evening yesterday. I live just southwest of Atlanta. Plenty of wind and rain but fortunately power and internet stayed on. I was surprised we didn`t lose power. We lost power for 6 days during the last ice storm that blanketed Atlanta.

    Re: Hurricane Irma

Out of power here at the office as noted in the other thread. At my house we only lost power for a few hours Sunday Morning and afterwards just had it flicker on/off here and there. Somehow got DirecTV signal throughout to watch some Football except in 5 minute patches where it would go out. Glad to see everyone on her made it out without any serious damage

Somehow every neighborhood around us has power except for our street. May be time to go take a trip and find a hotel for a bit until power is restored, kind of hard to sleep when it`s currently 85 degrees inside the house.

Hope you guys get power soon there Nautical!

We finally got power back on again around 4pm. Threw most of the food in the fridge away just to be safe.

Seemed to be in weird pockets in metro Atlanta. My friends in Canton and Marietta had no power loss at all and the winds didn`t seem to be too high for them. We lost power in Dunwoody for about 24 hours .

Whoa! $275!!! Why is it so expensive? I can buy a heck of camping lanterns and extra batteries for that price.

    NOOO! STOP!

Dirty little secret, Olight (Which is the porsche of flash lights, seriously) has a certain little ebay store. They are military grade and you can count on them when you NEED them, these are not toys. They do very very generious pricing on thier make an offer models.

This is why they are priced the way they are.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U16Sn1_3Gp4

Here`s the lowest they will take and they are amazing deals, which you can sell them for more than what you paid even after a year.

    Olight R50 - Base 70 shipped.
Olight R50 Seeker Stainless Steel Bezel 2500lumens EDC LED Flashlight w/ Battery

    Olight X7 Kit - 190 shipped
    Olight X7 Marauder 9000 lumens 3xCree XHP70 LED Tactical Flashlight w/ 4xBattery

    Olight X7R - 210 shipped
    Olight X7R Marauder 12000lumens 6 Modes 3 x Cree XHP70 LED Tactical Flashlight

All come with batteries and are capable of being charged from their respective packages.

DO NOT REPOST this on any other board, they will stop pricing if they get a surge of offers.

    Re: Hurricane Irma

For lighting, meaning specialized lighting where you want a light for EDC, in ur bg, etc - I`m in total agreement....

For SHTF situations like Harvey, Irene, etc - I do think that a AA/AAA capable led lantern is more suitable as finding those sorts of power sources is still going to be alot easier and convenient ......for most people. General public being the keyword...

I`ve got boatloads of specialized EDC lights, as well as about 30+ Milwaukee M18 batteries to power the 1500 lumen Milwaukee floodlight, a pair of 3K capable floodlights as well as a 3K lumen tripod light. At the end of the day, I STILL will have a couple of AA/AAA Cree lanterns around as IMO, AA/AAA are items that literally can be gotten anywhere, ya know.
