Blaming the NRA for gun violence makes as much sense as blaming AAA for drunk drivers.
Formerly the "Best Detailer", now just Super Wax Waster Man. Not necessarily tactful, but normally right. It`s good to be da King !!!
No? No what?
artm3, it is illogical and contradictory to state to someone, "don`t judge others" then go about juding them. You don`t seem to grasp that. Now I am not upset what you stated I just wanted to point out the contradiction.
The simple statement, "You`re wrong for juding others" is in fact a judgement in itself.
"Liberals are wrong" Yes, many are. As are many Democrats, Republicans, Conservatives. And?
Also, saying that I sound like an "elitist" would be an opinion, not factual. 2+2=4 is factual, not an opinion. "All NRA members are child killers!" is not factual no matter how much the one claiming believes it to be. It is an opinion.
"There is no God" is again not factual but an opinion. "Truth is Absolute" Is factual. You see the difference right?

there is a God is not a fact, but opinion, what is your point?
it`s not that complicated
I stated you are elevating youreelf above others: fact
not judging, not saying right or wrong, only that you did it
it is denial to state something such as:
society is worse off due to the wishy washy feel good policy of the liberals
which is obviously judgemental and self righteous
and after that fact is stated, redirecting against others
I am only repeating what you said
it does sound bad when you hear it from others, doesn`t it? lol

I got an email directing me to this page. So, I checked into the last page.
Gee guys, what happened to logic?
Blaming the NRA for gun violence makes as much sense as blaming AAA for drunk drivers.
- No, it would be like blaming the alcohol Industry and their lobbyist groups. What does AAA have to do with promoting the consumption of alcohol or the rights of the people who drink it?
"There is no God" is again not factual but an opinion.
-This one can be a little iffy. But, the existence of a God is actually factual. Their is either one or not one. It`s just some people are right and some are wrong. God is good is an opinion.
The logic policeman has left the thread.

Well, I understood what Ron was saying.
The NRA and this is a quote from the web "The NRA offers resources and training to ensure the safe and effective use of firearms as well as personal safety. Training courses are available that teach proactive strategies to avoid dangerous situations, self-defense using a firearm, as well as protection inside and outside the home." Gun safety not gun violence.
Whereas the AAA and this is a quote from the web "Because of its work in traffic safety AAA was cited in 1998 as the Clinton Administration`s number one traffic safety partner by U.S. Transportation Secretary Rodney Slater. So don`t drink and drive!!
So I see the logic that he stated and did not put or add anything else to it!!!
I think you are confused with AA vs AAA.

Friend just sent me another email which I think is funny. Just to let some of the watchdogs know that I did not verify the facts in this email via Snopes or other sights. SO, just take it for what its worth!!
Just a modern version to an old fable.
The ANT
AND THE
GRASSHOPPER
This one is a little different .......
Two Different Versions .....
Two Different Morals
OLD VERSION: 1950
The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and
laying up supplies for the winter.
The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away.
Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed.
The grasshopper has no food or shelter,
so he dies out in the cold.
MORAL OF THE OLD STORY:
Be responsible for yourself!
2008--
MODERN VERSION: The ant works hard in the withering heat and the rain all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.
The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away.
Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed while he is cold and starving.
CBS, NBC , ABC, MSNBC, PBS, CNN, and HLN
show up to provide pictures of the shivering grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food.
America is stunned by the sharp contrast.
How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer so?
Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah with the grasshopper and everybody cries when they sing, `It`s Not Easy Being Green..`
ACORN stages a demonstration in front of the ant`s house where the news stations film the group singing, We shall overcome.
Then Rev. Jeremiah Wright has the group kneel down to pray for the grasshopper`s sake.
President Obama condemns the ant
and blames President Bush, President Reagan, Christopher Columbus, and the Pope for the grasshopper`s plight.
Nancy Pelosi & Chuck Shumer exclaim in an interview with Chris Matthews & Brian Williams that the ant has gotten rich off the back of the grasshopper, and both call for an immediate tax hike on the ant to make him pay his "fair share" .
Finally, the EEOC drafts the Economic Equity & Anti-Grasshopper Act retroactive of course to the beginning of the Summer.
The ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number of green bugs and, so having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is confiscated by the Government Green Czar and given to the grasshopper.
The story ends as we see the grasshopper and his free-loading friends finishing up the last bits of the ant`s food while the government house he is in, which, as you recall, just happens to be the ant`s old house, crumbles around them because the grasshopper doesn`t maintain it.
The ant has disappeared in the snow, sadly never to be seen again.
The grasshopper is found dead in a drug related incident, and the house, now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of spiders who terrorize and ramshackle, the once prosperous and peaceful, neighborhood.
The entire Nation collapses bringing the rest
of the free world with it.
MORAL OF THE STORY:
Be careful how you vote in 2018 and 2020
Fake news. Lol
You hit the nail on the head dude!
One more time.
First, yes, you stated I am an "elitist" but only you making that statement is consider a "fact". It is yet to be determined if I am "factually" an "elitist", hence it is your opinion that I am such.
Secondly, me stating that a policy put in place may have allowed this kid to slip thru the cracks is NOT me being "self-righteous". I have made a judgement yes, but not a hypocritical judgement but rather one based on "facts" that the schools and police agreed to look the other way and to not arrest kids for misdemenor crimes. Can you not grasp this difference?
Lastly, no it does not sound bad coming from others because you have made no sense in your explanation.

[QUOTE=grisby;2131362]Ok, that seems like kind of a stretch on what those two organizations are about presently. But, see it how you want.
Anyhow, the NRA being blamed for gun violence is based on their lobbying and political pressure exerted through political donations. The AAA is doing neither for adults right to drink.
Hello,
Actually, your post that contained that made no sense. You first state that a God is factual then claim, "Their is either one or not one" So how is that factual, that there is in fact a God? Sounds more like "maybe there is, maybe there isn`t" which is not factual.
You then state that "It`s just some people are right and some are wrong." About what?
Lastly, "God is good is an opinion" The very nature of God, at least the God revealed in Scripture, would declare Him Good. Perhaps you speak of god within an agnostic framework and one would then claim they can not truly know god therefore whether this god be good or not. Perhaps?
Take care,
Anthony

[QUOTE=notime;2131381]Yep, that is how I see it and I apologize if you do not see my logic!! Used to be there was 2 sides to a coin, nowadays there are 3, heads, tails, and those that are confused. Meaning that if the coin lands flat it can be either heads or tails or if it lands standing up on edge, it can go either way depending on ones interpretation.
Thanks
