Meh, their business....they can do whatever. As long as the money isn`t taken out of somebody else`s pocket to pay for it, I don`t care. Still benefits me to be a member at full price

Wow. Read the article, and changed my opinion 30 different times the more I think about it.
So many questions.
I`m gonna stick with "if you can`t afford it, don`t buy it." 5.99 a month isn`t a large sum of money, but you are paying for a service where the whole intention is for you to use that membership to spend MORE money ("free" 2 day shipping, etc.)
Plus, at 5.99 a month x 12 months, it`s a discount of a whopping $27 for the year. Not bashing people on food stamps, etc., but this is financially dumb.
Although, I really wonder how they will enforce this.... or how many people on food stamps will actually do this....
Like I said, so many questions.
/sorta rant

Just a marketing scheme.

Just another way to reward poverty. America has been doing it for almost 80 years now - that`s why entitlements are through the roof and constantly exapanding. If your on "food stamps" you shouldn`t be worried about streaming movies or ordering anything off Amazon - you should be worried about getting off food stamps.
Maybe you could sell your TV / computer you`re looking at Amazon with to buy food? Polly not. That would constitute personally responsibility and old school American values of pride / self sufficiency.

100% agree Swani. I just thought as a business its not a bad marketing strategy, they are easy targets.
They will have to buy fewer lottery tickets and cigarettes if they spend their money with Amazon. Lol.

Eh, Accumulatorette gets her money`s worth, and then some, out of her Prime membership.
Random thought. Women are awesome.

A society willing to trade liberty for temporary security deserves neither and will lose both

Random thought. I feel uncomfortable if I have any less than 3 big jars of pickles in my fridge.

Swanicyouth- Accumulatorette loves her pickles too...but we have to keep `em in big ZipLocks as once they`re opened you can sure smell `em.
Oh and I really liked your "Women are awesome" post! I`m kinda at the extreme end of that and I simply hate all the misogynistic [crap] that seems to be going around these days, might bug me more than it does my wife. Heh heh, some of my best friends have been/are...uhm, "difficult women", to put it politely (and avoid the auto-censor). [EDIT: No, Accumulatorett is not a "difficult woman", she`s the one who thinks some of my gal-pals are, uhm..."abrasive personalities" ]
