to hell with either one of those. We`ve had some relatively mild summers the past couple years in my neck of the woods. Figure we`re about due for a hot one. I think we`ve already had more 90+ days than all of last year

Better than my method... climb the tree with a cordless reciprocating saw and/or chainsaw. I use a rope though... to pull the saw up. Not very smart but I haven`t died yet.

Given the vote for the UK to exit the EU, if you wanted to go to UK, things got a little cheaper due the British currency dropping.

    Sux.

My Gf always thinks anything detail related is just crazy. So, 6 mos ago she bought a new car....

    2016 Toyo Rav 4 (white)

    I waited...waited....waited....

Car was never washed ever in 6 mos...

Finally, last weekend it was so filthy and loaded with bird crap and paint stains (white) she asked if SHE could wash it...

    I said "we`ll see"...

While she was in the basement running on the treadmill, I jacked here keys and started.

(This was just a basic job)

    1. Tires cleaned with LA Awesome (brown sludge ran everywhere on contact)

    2. Wheels cleaned w/ CG Sticky Wheel Cleaner...

    3. Car Foamed and pressure washed with Bilt Hamber snow foam....

    4. As I was getting 2 buckets ready with Ultima Car Wash soap, she wonders into the driveway....

I cleaned one panel, and it turned white (paint looked brown) and showed her.

Then did a 2BM wash....removed some tar with Tar X...

She saw it transform before her eyes from sheet brown to bright white from just a wash.

No claying or Iron X... Just a good wash.

    6. Prima Hydro Max`ed everything.

    7. Cleaned windows with Prima Clarity.

    8. Then she actually cleaned out the inside with IUDJ and vacuumed it.

    9. OptiBonded tires and all plastics.

She saw the transformation right before her eyes. Despite no polishing or claying - car literally looked like it was sitting on the show room floor when we were done - under 3 hrs...

Now I think she appreciates detailing a bit more. She was much more impressed than I expected on how good it looked

The next day she said she couldn`t believe how good the wheels look.

Better to find out her true personality now and not years later. And I`d ask what are considered real goals anyway? Some people are content with the lifestyle they have and enjoy their hobbies, whatever they may be, so whose to say what you`re supposed to be doing with your life as long as you`re happy and self sufficient. It sucks, but no sense on settling for someone who can`t understand you and support whatever you do. Worst case, you become the crazy old guy with a house full of cats and a clean car!

Spent about an hour trying figure out how the lock on this gas can works to get the fuel to pour out. Still couldn`t do it:

No matter how I twisted and turned it - no gas would come out.

Finally I just busted all the safety stuff open with a chisel and some channel locks so the gas could pour right through:

Went to Lowe`s and spent 20 mins in the aisle with a new one til I finally figured it out.

    True story.

    Boy do I feel stoopid.
I feel your pain, I work in the back half of a car dealership (used, yes I know what you all are thinking, I promise I take good care of personal cars). One of my job requirements is to take photos of the inventory, I have been inside numerous Chevrolet Cruze`s, and for the life of me, I still can`t find the trunk button inside the car, I always have to take the key out of the ignition and hold the trunk button. I do this with a similar knowledge of cars (FSAE member, avid wrencher, was Physics Major/Math and Mech Eng Minor).

I drove a truck to move some things over the last few days and it had manual windows. I have not been in a vehicles in quite some time that has the good ole winding type window lift mechanism. They were actually not that all reliable.
