Showed my wife this post. She laughed and said you are not alone.
I just posted this
@RepMaxineWaters So bottom line...... You`re a liberal, I`m a conservative. But I bet we still have some common ground. I think we should meet over lunch and discuss it like civilized people. Since the Red Hen won`t let me in, how does Chik-fil-A sound?
Heh heh, you guys who go outdoors in your underwear...I think twice about leaving my property a t-shirt except for dog outings (only time I go anywhere in shorts). I`d *never* go to Denny`s in bluejeans or athletic shoes, nor to a grocery in a t-shirt.
And I could pull it off (regardless of how you define "it" ;) ) physique-wise ;)
My late nextdoor neighbor did his yardwork (and he was at it daily through his mid-80s) in crisp, pressed work clothes, long pants and sleeves, only the top button on his shirt undone even in hot weather. Freshly oiled work boots, combed hair, completely put-together every time I saw him and that was pretty much daily. He`d smile and say in his broken English "Is hot, no? But not so bad."
For that matter, when Accumulatorette grew up down in TN, a woman wouldn`t leave the house without nylons, a hat, and even gloves, and men kept their jackets on and ties cinched, in extremely hot and humid weather. You know, back before A/C was common...
Look Sharp Be Sharp as they say in the military.
PA DETAILER- Heh heh, I remember when those were just used cars. In my area they were all AAR `Cudas though, no T/A Challengers that I can recall. Owners couldn`t quit fiddling with the sixpacks, drove the techs nuts.."I oughta weld the [darn] hood shut so they`ll leave things alone..".
Booked my car audio install today for when I`m on vacation here in a couple of weeks. Breathtaking amount of money but it`s going to be awesome. Hertz Mille 3 way front stage, Mille coax rears, 2 5 channel JL audio vxi amps, and two 10" JL subs. Custom fiberglass boxes built into the corners of the trunk so I won`t lose any space, and custom fabrication for the 3" midrange speakers in the A pillars. Had a nice sound system(self installed) in my Accord, but this is going to flat out be a monster.
I hope Mr Dash doesnt get mad...

I used to install car stereos way back in high school/college. I wouldn’t even try to do anything today except maybe install speakers. With the cheap clips holding door panels on today it would be a challenge not to break them all. Installing a head unit on cars today would be a nightmare with everything connected to everything. It would probably throw a check engine warning light just thinking about removing the stereo.
It used to be easy to find a stereo installer and there was a large choice of head units and speakers, but the last time I went into a shop I was saddened by the lack of choice. The only good thing is that car stereos sound (mostly) better than they did 40 years ago. Most still can sound a lot better with a speaker upgrade.
