Got new tires for my Camaro today. only 9k miles on them and about 1/2 - 2/3 rds worn but I hated the Goodyear F1`s that were on it. Every pebble rock or piece of sand stuck to them just long enough to be thrown at high speed at the rear quarter panels. Changed out from 285/35 R20 square set up to 275/40 R20 front and 315/35 R20 rear. Got Continental Extreme Contact DWS 06 all season tires, they have a little less grip in perfect conditions (dry clean pavement) but the have way better rain and cold grip and they ride a lot better then the Goodyears i took off. Also the Goodyears being such a track focused sticky summer only hard sidewall tire trammeled so bad it was scary on some the roads around here at times it made you look like you were drunk tossing you back and forth in your lane.

trashmanssd- IMO that "worse in ideal/better in wet" is a great trade-off, I do the same thing.
Heh heh, 9K is more than I ever got out of a set on an F-body, but then you swapped early too. I really, *REALLY* oughta do that on the Crown Vic but the [crappy] Goodyears have so much tread left...sounds like you and I are both displeased with Goodyears
What prompted you to go with the Contis? I`m currently all about Michelins, but then I`m not driving an F-body these days either and I bet big sedans need completely different rubber.

I need a weekend to myself and my unused car care products. I really don`t want to detail any cars this weekend unless they are mine.

I went with Conti`s because of reviews/Price/availability/in usable sizes for my car. There are some excellent Michelin`s in my size but they are in the 400-450$ per tire range. The Conti`s were 269 front and 313 rear per tire, I was going to try BF Goodrich g-Force COMP-2 A/S as they were just under 200 per tire front and rear and have been getting very good reviews but those are on back order every where for 2-3 months and I made decision this year i was done with the OEM goodyears. I don`t dislike goodyears I have Duratrac`s on my tundra and like them a lot its more to do with the ones on my Camaro are really a track tire (similar to whats on Rons car) which the car reviewers love when they run them on a track but out in the real world they have way to many compromises for my liking. I think right now much like cars we are lucky to have many brands of tires making very good products. Yet no one is perfect and every manufacturer makes a few stinkers also.

trashmanssd- Thanks for explaining your choice so well. Yes indeed, so many factors to consider...*including availability*. Need a tire or two in the middle of nowhwere.....
I always wonder about "customer reviews" if only because IME most people have zero desire/ability/etc. to objectively evaluate tires (or much of anything else on a car).
