Similar to what PA said..............
Just got my shave oil (the stuff Jaddie got)
How do I use it?
Formerly the "Best Detailer", now just Super Wax Waster Man. Not necessarily tactful, but normally right. It`s good to be da King !!!
I think Shave Secret is a foam/cream/soap replacement not an addition to the regimen. Most other oils are to be applied to wet skin before lathering up. I haven`t tried Shave Secret but can tell you first hand other oils are not stand alone products.

New to it but my understanding is about a dime or nickle size bead in your hand rub hands together then apply to face before you apply your shaving cream. I need the nickle as my hands are dry and they steal a lot of the oil.
I think the Shave Secret stuff is meant to be a stand alone product. I don`t think I would try that. I seen it in Walmart. I was going to buy it as a pre-treatment but decided not to.
As far as shave oils go after you do your normal pre-shave ritual of washing or what ever you do you apply a few drops in your hand rub over beard area and apply your shave cream and shave. In between applying the oil and the shave cream you might want give it a minute or two to soak in. I would apply oil then make lather should be ample time for it to soak into your face. It adds a little more layer of slickness/protection. I tried a sample of it and didn`t see much difference in the shave. It also had menthol in it and I really don`t care for that feeling on my face. I ended up tossing the tiny bottle and went back to my regular routine.

Thank you for the explanation of shave oils. So oil then your fav. soap/creme/gel.
I have my process down, and see no need to change. CREMO cooling with a good disposable razor. Has been giving me 100% perfect shaves. But I do not have to shave daily. Once Monday then again Friday. On the subject, what is everybody`s go to aftershave? I want to try the caffinated one. I do not use liquids. Gillette gel is my go to. PALMERS men face & body during winter/cold temps. One big plus I have noticed from the CREMO shave is how much it improves the look of your skin, and the in between shaves last longer.

l`occitane is boss. Absolutely amazing aftershave lotion
Yep, you got it on the oils. I have been going to try a different oil that didn`t have menthol in it but haven`t gotten that far.
Aftershaves is pretty much like shave soaps, it is a ones own preference thing. It`s sad but I have a quite a few OTC ones. Gillette gel you mention I would guess it is the one in the blueish bottle? I like it in the summer along with Afta. I have all 3 Nivea aftershave balms in the white glass bottle, regular, non-alcohol, and the cooling, those I like in the summer also. My favorite now for the winter in Dove Men`s Care After shave balm Hydrate, makes my face feel great during these cold days. Just bought a bottle of Brut since I never tried it in my youth, don`t care for it much. Also picked up Aqua Velva Musk, used to swim in the stuff 25 years ago but the stuff now I don`t think smells the same. On Badger and Blade Pinaud Clubman is mentioned a lot so had to order that one. I got the original and it is not bad but not really my favorite. The smell remind me of some of the interiors of cars from the 70`s, that fresh vinyl/carpet smell with some of those pine tree air fresheners mixed in. Happy aftershave hunting !

I`ve been using the Floid aftershave splash. Nice scent and not too much burn.
I have to say I agree with this. I can`t stand post shave balms. I do however have a nice collection of Pinaud Clubman aftershaves. I have the Classic, Special Reserve, Bay Rum, and vanilla. I get bored using the same scent. Plus each one offers a different experience. Some are cooling while others give toning sensation.

Took a road trip this evening and stopped at Walmart and picked up a bottle of Shave Secret to use as a base layer. I didn`t notice it, and wouldn`t have bought it, but it says at the very bottom that it contains menthol and clove. I really don`t care for menthol on my face but I guess since I bought it I will give it a try anyway. I know I won`t be using it on its own but according to the directions that is how it is supposed to be used. Even states if you have razor drag add more water not more Shave Secret.
