    I`d get the 4S now.

It has the upgraded cpu for way more speed than the 4. Better features, better software than the 4.

Better battery life than the 4.

Their next version, the 5 won`t be coming out for quite a while I`m thinking so waiting is sort of like poking yourself in the eye with a stick.

I have a 4 now and really like it. My contract doesn`t allow an upgrade to the 4S yet, but when the time comes, I`ll make the migration in a heartbeat.

As an aside, it`ll be interesting to see what the next Apple phone is like, it`ll be the first one developed without Steve Jobs at the helm.

If you make use of the camera, for sure get the 4s. Amazing camera for a phone, and the 4 was already ahead of the class. Siri is pretty gimmicky, at least to me. iOS 5 in general is great though, I love iMessage.

My suggestion. None of the above.

Get one of the new Droid phones. You get Flash, the programs you want without rooting, and no apple proprietary stuff.

Ben, since when is flash a bonus??? :LOLOL

Each has pluses and minus, but proprietary has advantages too. When is the last time you saw cradle like devices or connectors for an Android based phone? Most cars have iphone docs, home stereos too, etc.

I know this will be preaching to the choir, but....

Flash is a bonus when viewing certain websites and video.

Also, droid phones have bluetooth and headphone jacks. That works with most modern car stereos and home stereos.

I know that these two points didnt win you over, but I failed to mention one.

There is one thing that no iphone will ever have. That cool "DROID" text message alert sound. :peace:

In my situation at least,I just wish you could get a new phone and not be held at gun point to do a totally new plan or renew your existing plan with a contract. My plan isn`t offered any more so I would be screwed.

I`d buy a new phone every two years or so, or better yet, if they allowed, multiple different phones but the same number/same account. But they just don`t do that.
Treat it like it`s the only one in the world.

Thanks guys for the info. I have an Iphone 4 right now with verizon, but I can break the contract - either way, I also need to figure out if I should join Sprint or att. Wait or just get the 4s.

On another sad note, iProprietary has won again. Adobe announce today that it will discontinue development of Flash for Mobile devices. They said it was not worth it when 75% of the mobile devices refuse to support or allow its installation.

Will be a sad day when my Verizon Unlimited data contract ends in a few months. They will switch me automatically to its 2 gig a month plan. Takes me about 10 days to max out the data usage.

Gonna have to switch to a different carrier or pay up the #$# in overages. T-Mobile and Sprint still have unlimited plans, but coverage sucks where I live.

If you`ve already got a 3GS or 4, I see no real major incentive to upgrade unless the camera is something you`d use often. My 3GS with iOS 5 is treating me just fine, so I`ll be waiting for the 5 to upgrade again.

Little confused here. Flash is going away and Android has ceased development with it. I have bluetooth, my headphone jack works on every device I have tried it with including my cars (my DD has a i-whatever dock buit in with full integration). I can set my alerts to be anything I want... even if that is the droid sound. And if I don`t want just Apple proprietary apps only, I just jailbrake it.

Like some one else pointed out, to each their own. I have had a 3s, three 4`s and a 4s (four lines) and I don`t recall ever having to restart them, take the battery out of them, reset them... and, I don`t think any one of them has even been turned off in their entire lives. Last one I sold was after a year and I got more for it then I paid for it. Just saying.

I have three 4`s and just got the 4s. I wasn`t going to but the Wife was sick of her Windows phone and she wasn`t eligable for the upgrade yet so she used mine. The other two converted from Blackberry Bolds. Otherwise I was just going to wait for the 5. It is faster across the board and Siri works well. I am not a big camera user as I use SLR`s for anything but snapshots but the pics, under good conditions, are pretty darn good.

Even if you don`t get the 4s, cut the cord and install iOS5 and gain its benefits. When I upgraded one of the other 4`s, not only did you get the new functionality (not Siri, that is 4s only because of processor but I have heard it has been hacked on a 4) but the phone actually performed BETTER! Microsoft could learn something there (all my computers are Microsoft so I know!).

Unless you have something odd with your Verizon account, they have grandfathered anyone who had an unlimited data plan to keep unlimited data. I just picked up a 4S to replace the original Motorola Droid ... just looked at my Verizon account, still have unlimited data.
