Sheesh, I typed this all out then lost it because I put "car" in the title. Long story short: dump truck + highway = one depressed Autopian.

Did you get a plate number or company name? If you can document when, where how and by who you stand a decent chance for getting something.

I don`t want anything, except to have left 2 minutes sooner so I would have been in front of the dump truck instead of behind it.

Edit: Besides...if I had driven closer to get a plate #...I would have exponentially more chips...

Does it matter? It was a sweeping onramp, the car in front of me kicked up a cloud of dust, there was some dirt in the road, as I came around the ramp I saw a few cars ahead was a dump truck, as we started to merge into traffic I could see the "dirt" was leaking out the gate of the truck, then I started to get pelted, but there was nowhere to go, after we merged I got out into the middle lane but I was still in the debris field, so I went into the left lane, which was better but then the truck moved into the middle lane...I considered blowing past him, but he was still a ways ahead and I was already going 20 over...so I slowed down (luckily not too much traffic behind) and pulled over to the right shoulder to let him get out of range. Unfortunately, there was still crap all over the road which the other traffic was kicking up. It happened really fast, there wasn`t really anything to do.

Next new car is getting PPF all over it...if I live long enough to get another new car (kept the last one 16 years).

Setec Astronomy- Yikes, sorry to hear that. How bad is it? I mean, are we talking pitted windshield and utterly trashed paint...necessitating extensive repairs?

Amen to that. Worst drivers on the road as well as dumping their crap everywhere.
