I have a set of 3 full size tires + 1 spare that I want to get rid of at a garage sale im having this weekend. Are there any legal issues that could come back to bite me if these tires fail on someone?

I wouldn`t worry. Most people realize the garage sale warranty. The summer of 2001, I sold a set of Firestone Wilderness ATs -- YES the ones pulled from my Explorer prior to the major recall. They were quite new, and I think I let all of them go for $10-20. They had been store outside -- under my deck for over 1 year, but new tread. I`ve sold other tires (usually for a few $$), and have never worried. If you are too worried, make them sign a waiver (then you`ll probably never sell them).

yeah relax. There`s a place by us called, "Steve`s Used Tires." If they can do it, i`m sure you can.

If they do fail and someone comes forward to do something, just deny any sale that you had since it`ll be a cash sale and no record would be made. :grinno:

I`m not sure how old they are since I`m cleaning out a lousy tenants stuff. I can post some pics after I get them all cleaned up if anyone would be interested in picking them up (Chicago suburbs) or buying them. You can have them for cheap, I`m trying to get rid of this stuff.

I don`t think it would be any worse than selling a used car privately?

Unless you fraudulently mis-represent something you would be OK I would think
