My sister is looking to purchase one and is asking for my help. I know nothing about buying a treadmill. She is 110 lbs and will be using it for walking and light jogging every other day. She is looking to spend under $1000. We checked out a Nordictrack at Sears for $800 and seemed fine but then again I don`t know what`s good or bad. Any suggestions? Oh, should she purchase a warranty?

All you need is a street and a good pair of running shoes. I despise treadmills unless the weather is hideous.

I agree as well. I`m not a proponent of running either, well at least not on cement. Find a nice hiking trail (dirt) and hike or run it. The more elevation gain the better. Why spend that kind of money when you can see some nice scenery and hopefully breathe some fresh air.
