Think I finally found my car (long)

I`ve been searching for 00-01 Maximas for quite some time now. Given all the options/color/mileage and price I wanted, I think it would be almost impossible to find the exact car I wanted. With that in mind I`m willing to make some compromises. So the beginning of this week, I see a very big Nissan dealer in the town over had a couple of Maximas. So I look online(on cars.com) and see they have an 01 SE gray lustre with only 27k miles. I know its to good to be true and with the prices I`ve seen from the place b4 I figured it`d be way to much $. Anyway I was bored Monday afternoon so decided to take a ride with my bro just to check the car out. The guy like every salesperson immediately starts dropping a hundred questions on me when I just wanted to look and sit in the car. He finally got the hint and opened it up for me. It was pretty nice, I really liked the paint had awesome flake and was in pretty good shape. Even though it didn`t have leather the cloth wasn`t bad at all. At this point i`m not goin to go crazy for leather. Only thing I didn`t like was no sunroof. So anyway we sneak out while the guy is with another customer and I`m looking at their website later that night. That Max was going for $16,900. I decide just for fun to make an online offer of $13k and of course someone responds me back tellin me they have other Maximas. With that I decided to continue my search.
Well today I wanted to get the value of it and while i`m on the site noticed they dropped the price to $14,900. At this point im done looking for cars and if I can get this car down to $13-14 I think i`m just going to buy it. Hopefully it won`t go anywhere cuz this weekend I`m busy but after Tuesday I`ll be officially done with school
Just though i`d share a little afternoon excitement.

Re: Think I finally found my car (long)

Haha i`m looking forward to seeing it under the detail city swap meet next week Charles.
Thanks Norah I was really drawn by the color, the interior is actually darker, I think the color got washed out in the pictures. I took a quick walk around the car and didn`t notice any scratchs or dents and the interior was in pretty good shape, just need a good cleaning. It`s also nice knowing its from a reputable dealer that is only 10 mins away from me. Hopefully I can get it for the price I want.
Most people think about all the mods they want to do to their new car, but I think about all the detailing combos that would look good...

Hi, thats nice car.Just a thought, have you tried looking at Infiniti I30.
You might be surprised, same size, maybe more Horsepower and all
the bells and whistle come stock, electric moonroof, bose am-fm-cass-cd
200watt/leather interior/plus alot more believe me,and for some reason
unknown to me usually cheaper in price.yet Infiniti has great service
and reliable cars.Try it before buying, then search internet,cars.com
autotrader.com ebay.com and local.I am willing to bet that if you test
    drive one you might reconsider.

A GLE maxima and an I30 are pretty much the same thing. Infinitis are overpriced. Both rock vq30de motors. Both make the same power. Maximas are cooler. Thats all there is too it.

Re: Think I finally found my car (long)

I honesly never really liked the Infiniti I30, no offense to anyone who owns one, but the styling always seemed bland to me. I though all Infinitis were more money because their upscale Nissans? Same thing with Toyota and Lexus? I was originally looking at Infiniti G20s and realized they were fully loaded Sentras for like 5-6k more. The only thing I really would have wanted on this Max is for it to have a sunroof. All the other stuff I can definately live without. The price, mileage and condition of the car are making me compromise the sunroof. Plus I love the color.
btw If your referring to my avatar, thats a picture of my "celeb gf" :rolling
She used to be on the Fox show OC, not sure if shes got anything new coming out though.

wish you were N.C. my co worker just sold his 6 speed 2002 with 78,000 miles on it . It was the white with the pearl clear coat for 10,000. He was in a motorcycle accident and lost his right leg just below the knee. It was in awesome condition. I started to buy it.
