I`m not looking to go crazy just my best bang for the buck LCD monitor. I`ve been reading a lot about Samsung and Viewpoint but I can`t tell the difference. Any suggestions?

I got a Viewsonic 912 (19") for $260 shipped several months ago from buy.com. This is my first experience with an LCD, but I absolutely love this monitor, although the built-in speakers are total junk.

Read reviews on newegg or amazon to get some input on various monitors. As with nearly all electronics and computer components, the prices are always dropping (now it`s $208 after rebates at the same site only 3 months later) and the technology improves quickly.

PC Magazine in one of the most recent issues had a review of 4 or 5 "bargain" 19" LCD monitors--I`d link you up but I can`t seem to find it on their site--I read it in the print version.

The Viewsonic and Dell have received good reviews. The problem is I can`t compare the two because there are no local Dell dealers here. I`ll have to check out the PC mag. Thanks for the help!!!

TechBargains is a good place to find online sales/rebates/coupons, and they have a page devoted to LCD displays: http://www.techbargains.com/cheaplcdmonitor.cfm

Once you decide which models you`re interested in, that`s a good place to keep an eye out for deals . . .

    Fatwallet.com

    Bensbargains.com

    Spoofee.com

Fatwallet is by far the best bargain hunting deal. I made an XPS 700 system (2.8Ghz) with 24" flat panel monitor for $1200.
