    Ammo training on you tube

Watched the new video from Larry last night. While I think Larry tends to run on, Having Kevin Brown with him is excellent! I had the pleasure of being with Kevin for 8 days a couple years ago and I can tell you he’s the nicest guy you could meet! This is an excellent chance to learn from him not only how, but more importantly the why in polishing paint. Also more importantly the why you don’t chase every defect. Highly recommended viewing!

Perhaps his detailing videos are good, but I stumbled upon this utter hack job searching for some touchup videos:

Its paintful to watch him destroy that Benz.

I recall that video, Dan. The finished product left much to be desired.

I think it is beyond that. It does him a disservice and there are some really good constructive comments posted with more appropriate fixes. He should pull the video as there are people taking that as gospel and only making things worse.

    Totally agree..

When I was the Apprentice Painter, I would take something like that, use an air powered DA, and featheredge the paint on both sides of that huge scratch, then prime the area, then spray a guide coat, and block it all flat, then repaint it, block sand it, and compound it all back to good again..

Featheredge means to sand back from the damage, the different - Layers - of product away from the damage.. Very meticulous work, but only done by the Shops that really care to do perfect work..

It was Black so it has to absolutely flat, and not that awful result we saw on the video..

I`ve been on the fence about ordering Mud, but I think now I`ll give it a try. I`ve been trying to narrow my inventory, with one product per task...maybe Mud will be the first, even if it`s a little on the pricey side. Some things are expensive because they`re worth it. There are a lot of good, knowledgeable, helpful folks here, so give some thought to sticking around.

I’ve used mud before, lasted one wash. I’m really liking Nanolex rubber.
