Glass Polishing: Lake Country Glass Polishing kit reivew and instrucitons

I sealed the glass with Z-AIO and Z2pro. I hate Rain-X but I will strip the passenger side half and report back.

That would be awesome if you could do that, I`m very interested in the end result.

Nice work. Curious, how long did it take to restore the glass? I`ve got an `01 Camry with scratches on the rear passenger window. Would like to try the kit.

Forgot to ask, did you get any fish bowling effect? Namely distortions of objects due to slight depth variations of the glass after polishing?

Agree on the Nu Glass. I typically use it with the PC, speed 5 and white pad. Makes the glass sparkle. Fantastic product

I have found Nu Finish and Zaino Glass Polish to be similar. Both excellent cleaning products but not quite hard enough for correction.

Impressive-I`ve heard that glass isn`t as hard as it used to be-not sure why:nixweiss

I guess to resist cracking? Windshields on newer cars get pitted extremely quickly.

Looks good. Bad glass is such an annoyance.

I`ve had similar success with Vanilla Moose and Poli-Seal using an LC orange pad.

You were able to remove scratching using a non-abrasive glaze or a filling polish using a pad that has moderate cut (for paint)? I`ll have to try that.

Great to hear Zane. When ever you build a preminum bussiness it takes patience. At least the cars will be fun/challenging to do

So, since one of the cons of this approach is the time, pressure, and patience required to do this kind of correction, even with a rotary, I`m now pondering whether using one of the sanding discs David Fermani linked in another thread Product Detail | Scratch Magic as a first step, following with this polishing step. However, they didn`t recommend correcting large areas with the sanding discs

I think you could save time with disks, but are greatly increasing the risk of distortion? I would do it this way (because it is safer) but I`m not one to take risks (my wife says I`m boring..)

I`m glad the glass issue is finally getting some play time. Felt/Stiff Foam pads and Cerium oxide are the only way to achieve satisfactory results on glass. It`s too hard for anything else to really work.



It looks like Lake Country is ahead of the curve as far as detailing companies are concerned.

With taking pictures and figuring it out (it took a little while to zero in on the maximum section-working too big mean making two passes. smaller is better) about 2 hours. I think I could do it in an hour or so.

Todd, have you ever tried Diamondite`s Glass Repair System for Machine Application? Is it comparable to Lake Country`s?

I wonder if DG NuGlass + the LC Glass Pad would produce similiar results. I know the finish the NuGlass leaves is top notch!



The LC Glass pad has abrasives built in...



No idea why I didn`t add one to my recent AG order. They are only $6!

I just received the Lake Country Glass Polishing Kit Todd is referring to from Autogeek. Keep in mind, the two yellow glass polishing pads that Todd refers to DO NOT come with the kit sold by Autogeek. Autogeek sells those pads but they do not come with the AG kit, they need to be ordered seperately.
