I was told this would really clean up the plastic cladding, and bumper covers on vehicles. AND that it lasted pretty good.
Anyone ever try/use it this way??

If you mean their Best of Show...I thought that was a "straight", i.e., non-cleaning wax.
I used countless bottles of it back in the day (my late father bought it so hey...free wax) until I just couldn`t justify *not* using something I liked better (even if I did have to pay for it).
Though they might have reformulated it since I last used it, it did not prove durable IME. IF you like how it looks, I`d consider it a "beauty wax" and plan to reapply often.
I always kept it *off* trim lest it stain same. But when dealing with painted cladding, I treat that just like the rest of the paint, except that I`m more careful about heat when working on non-metallic materials.
