For what it is worth, here is the thread I started on the then-new introduction of the G15V2 & G21V2 (the V2 (Version Two) is my designation to differentiate them from the original V1 Boss G15/G21) from almost a year ago (16Mar20): https://www.autopia.org/forums/griot...polishers.html
(Pay attention to comments about the screw balancing system in posts toward the end of the thread!)
to Mike lambert:
It`s a little disconcerting of your "no comment" about Griot`s Garage polishing machines and the "SEVERAL problems" you`ve experienced with them since your initial glowing review of the new G9, but as much as Autopians (including me) want to know "the rest of the story", I respect your decision to remain silent on this matter.

I absolutely love my first generation G15! Well build machine. And super smooth with the new rupes DA yellow pad.
I also have the new G8. I believe the build quailty has dropped off but its a powerful little machine. I don`t t think it would be a good choice for daily use but it could just be this unit.
maxshine make some nice looking polisher`s and the new shinemate 620 series are supposedly class leading in power. I suspect the first generation griots, maxshine and shinemate all come from the same people. Just speculation.

Maxshine and ShineMate are different companies that produce polishers. Could they be made in same facilities? Maybe.
It is believed that Maxshine made the 1st gen griots polisher and read somewhere a while ago they made the DAS 6 pro which look alot like blue Griots.
Shine mate made the 1st gen Adams polishers but not sure about their new pro line.

Heh heh, wonder how many here related to *that* reference?!? I myself simply loved it, and now I`m almost looking forward to trying my BOSS15 some time (it`s been sitting here unused since Christmas of, uhm...I dunno, a while back ).
Whats you waiting for? Need to get to it.....
[QUOTE=Coatings=crack;2182251]Love my Boss 15 too. Although it’s my 1st random orbital so nothimg to compare too.
Only problem Felix is anyone who buys now is getting a different machine.
Read mixed review where some say better (Awesome machine if true) and some say worse.
Hope to go to Griots and try the new one.
If you already have the Boss 15, Whats the point of looking at a new machine thats similar? Why not look at different machines(flex3401/Rupes duetto, ect? vs similar of what you have? Have you tried using different pads? Compounds/polishes?

Just to test the quality difference. Have a the 15 and a 3”. Dont need much else but maybe a mini....
On the unit, does the label state country of origin/manufacter?
What difference does it make? There are great products out of China as well as shoddy/cheap products. This being a Griots machine w/ Richard`s name on it says alot........
