    Re: Polished/Sealed glass today

I figured it was time to update. It`s 5/17/20, and BOTH of my F-150`s, and our Sport Trac`s windshields, and side glasses, and mirrors are holding up superbly !!!

ALOT of rain, and some ice since applying the GRIOT`s product on my windshields. I`d highly recommend it to anyone willing to put in a little effort for a lasting result !!!!!!!!!

I have Bosch ICON wipers on both our vehicles (my 2006 Ford Freestyle and wife`s 2015 Ford Taurus). Expensive? Yes, but they last two or three years with good maintenance. Clean rubber blades by wiping with Megs Detailer D101 APC diluted 3:1 and treat with Aerospace 303 Protectant. I use a shop heavy-duty blue paper toweling for wiping APC and applying 303 because it gets so black from the blade cleaning, so it disposable. I do this about every 2 months, except in the cold winter months in Wisconsin.

Funny how some of my vehicles like one brand of wiperblade, and others like something different.

And then there`s that [freakin`] Crown Vic of mine that`s awful no matter what...

I have had one very excellent experience with rotary ceriglass and makita and one nightmare very bad experience with ceriglass and rotary I was using ceriglass glass and eBay cerium oxide. Now I avoid eye contact with all windshields and I ignore them.

I`ve used Aquapel on my glass this spring. I`ve always gotten at least 3 months` worth of beading/water rejection out of it.

William_Wallace- I appreciate your candor, and that reinforces my disinclination to take such stuff to *my* windshields.

John U- I`m still using RainX on the Crown Vic. The previous owner did, and just keeping it refreshed has worked out pretty OK. Yeah, I`d like something more durable, but I`m gonna use up that RainX first...which is sure taking a while (still got loads of it after 8 years).

The Gtechniq coating has been the longest lasting. The product is more work to put on and does bead off at some of the lower mph of some other coating but will out last them all. You have to use cotton cloths for removal. If u use microfiber you shorten duration

Wow, knowing this, I`d be hoping for a rock to hit the windshield if I wanted to remove it!

I can`t help but wonder whether it`d be, uhm..Accumulator-proof. I have concerns about applying such products and only later noticing that I botched it up.
