Re: Boss foaming system - overview
I don`t use much Griots , but just short of their polishes (which I just bought), me thinks they are going to have to go away from their iconic clear PET and switch at least that product to HDPE .... I hope it`s as strong as it`s been said in this thread !
Re: Boss foaming system - overview
Been wondering of anybody had this online yet...
Re: Boss foaming system - overview
Mine just arrived yesterday! I`m going to sneak over to Brownies house and siphon off some of his Surface Prep for now. ;)
Excited to give it a try! While my MTM cannon worked fine I hated that it always tipped over because of the poor bottle design.

At Griot`s Garage, we pride ourselves in providing our customers with best-in-class products and service. We regret to inform you that Foaming Surface Prep is such an amazing product it actually compromised our legendary bottle. We are working diligently to fix this packaging surprise so we can get this exciting product into your hands as fast as possible. We appreciate your patience and will make you aware of Foaming Surface Prep`s availability when we are confident that our bottle can contain all its foaming awesomeness.
Thanks for sharing that! I had originally included it in my order along with the Foaming Starter kit (That new PFM drying towel is huge!), but got an email that it wouldn`t be available and I wouldn`t be charged for it. I hadn`t clicked the "More+" under the not currently available to see that explanation.
I did notice they still have it listed in the newest catalog.
Dying to use the starter kit, but need to get an appropriate stainless quick connect. My little Ryobi isn`t compatible with the one they send with the gun.

A couple reviews from someone. Doesn`t really show much and the review could have been done better.

Re: Boss foaming system - overview
Here`s the most important question of all....when will this stuff be available from someone else (i.e Autopia, Autogeek) other than Griots Garage?

I ordered mine from DI, all in stock now except for surface prep.
Used mine last night for the first time. Super thick foam and smells great too. Sorry for the crappy video, my pressure washer has a flexible wand on it so it was hard to hold my phone and apply the foam at the same time. I`ll get a better one when the wife can shoot the video for me.

Re: Boss foaming system - overview
Too much stuff, Pro`s try an simplify the process not add more steps. I can properly decon a car with citrus wash or sometimes just straight 1Z W99, then Clay, dry and done. 3 soaps is 2 too many.

Actually, if you`re prepping for a detail you only need Surface Prep, which would replace your citrus wash or W99. Are you referring to Chemical Guys Citrus Wash?
People like to talk about using the 2 or 3 bucket method all the time but having more buckets doesn`t resolve the REAL issue, which is that fact that dirt is still on the paint when you touch. By using Surface Prep you remove virtually all dirt from the surface prior to actually touching the paint with a mitt and then you really only need one bucket as your wash solution should stay clean. Less dirt on the surface, less chance of marring.
Re: Boss foaming system - overview
What is surface prep though? Apc, Citrus base soap, Degreaser? Depends, I`m seeing alot more carbon Ceramics so I really watch what chemicals I`m using (Esp for prep) these days.

You`d have to direct that question towards Jeff Brown. All I know is it`s more alkaline (Foaming Surface Prep has a high pH blend of detergents and other advanced active ingredients) and is nothing like foaming the car with citrus wash, which IME does little to nothing for removing dirt/road film.
Re: Boss foaming system - overview
Well, did you get to pilfer any prep wash from Jeff?

LOL! Not yet, but I`m going to be applying PPF to his new GTI soon and I`ll make it a condition of doing the job. ;)
