In regards to using the large PFM on vertical surfaces. I hold one end up by the belt line to keep the other end off the ground. I use my other hand to wipe down the side with the other end.
I`m always a bit "what the..." about people using Drying MFs that are really wet...or even just "pretty damp". I know others do that, and some even prefer it, but I like my Drying Towels to be basically dry, otherwise I`ll sometimes get a tiny bit of residual moisture left on the vehicle which then has to dry via evaporation. No, it`s seldom enough to be easily visible, but I can sometimes see it if the conditions are just right and I don`t want that.
No, no...not flaming, just another of those things where I`m on the other side of the fence from some people.

I do rinseless washes using the original "Garry Dean method": multiple towels, a wrung out towel as a second pass and then a drying towel. Of all the towels I`ve tried as a final drying towel, the PFM is the only one where I make one pass, in one direction, and the panel is dry. Fewer passes means less chance of scratching the paint. I use one 16" x 16" towel folded in quarters to dry my entire SUV, and I usually only need 2 or 3 of the 8 sides that are available.
Never had a problem with my PFM leaving Any water behind, even when it`s saturated. Never seen it "Fail" as a far as leaving anything on the finish. It becomes quite heavy and somewhat ungainly but hasn`t been effected at all by the amount of water it`s picked up.
Just run a rinse cycle on the washer and spin it down. Actually dry in dryer on Medium for 20 minutes then finish by line drying. YMMV.
kappy- Argument (in the nicest sense of the word I assure you! I`m absolutely *NOT* picking a fight, just offering a differing take..) might be that the number of contacts don`t matter as long as each one is too gentle to cause marring. Like with the overall wash- some say to minimize touching, but I do best with *MANY* passes, each one so gentle that it not only doesn`t cause marring, but also doesn`t get much dirt off (which is why I have to do so many). When I did fewer contacts, each had to be more aggressive and as a result I had infinitely more marring, had to polish every year or two to pass (rigorous) inspection in the right lighting. Just a view from my side of the fence Wonder if the degree of contamination factors in...my vehicles get awfully dirty between washes, year-round not just in the winter. Eh, whatever works for people is what they oughta do IMO.
Marine Clerk- That`s interesting/informative about the PFM not leaving any water behind when saturated, thanks for posting about it. All of mine do (even the ones that apparently don`t for others) but I`m gonna give your take credence and keep it in mind.
Hate to sing the praise again, but caught myself this morning thinking this is the best drying towel I have ever spent money on. The large size dries the Xterra and asks for more. No touch ups or do overs. I have no issue with the larger one. Works around the vehicle without issue. I am just extra careful around my emblems as to not snag the PFM. These areas I just blot dry.
Currently on sale.

I ain`t no pro, but these towels are the `best thing since sliced bread` (sooory, dates moi) in my car-drying life. Best microfiber drying towels to date.
The PFM`s are superior to anything I have ever used. Our dusty climate poses possible paint (ppp?..forgive?) issues because of gritty/raspy sand & low humidity. Sand is much like "SANDpaper"? I try to moisten the towels a tad (softened/distilled water/whatever) as our clime is arid. Doing so, they seem to perform better from Start. I prefer the small towels though. They are easier to glide across each section and don`t get heavy and awkward once wet. Two smaller towels, in place of the "biggie" work better for me.
Great drying towel. Please don`t "dial-down" the quality?
Med. sized.

That`s the same as I get from AA Mary. Start with your glass to get the towel damp then move onto the paint. Your going to love them! The PFM wax removal towels work great also. My next purchase will be the PFM glass towels, I have heard great things about the glass towels, but don`t have any yet.
Randomly came across a PFM towel at pep boys, so I bought one. They are much better quality than the TRC ones. Thicker, softer and overall better quality. No comparison.

Medium-size PFM drying towels seem to be available only at auto parts stores (or on those stores online sites), not on Griots site or most others that sell their stuff.
