    GG6 Review

    Hello everyone!

I have been professionally detailing for 10 years now and decided to get some new machines... I got my hands on the GG6 3rd gen.. Previous machines used:

    1. Porter Cable 7424XP
    2. Rupes 21ES
    3. Makita 9227C

Used the GG6 this weekend on a few clients cars.. and WOW.. what a BEAST compared to the Porter Cable.. So smooth.. not nearly as much vibration compared to the Porter Cable.. Much more torque and cuts and finishes very well!

I recently sold my Rupes 21ES and purchased the Rupes 21 Mark ii.. Should be coming in tomorrow.. Can`t wait to use that machine also!

It is a great machine and quite capable for those not wanting to spend 3x for a long throw.

So i got my gg6" earlier this week but just tried, and man oh man do i love it. I used an old meguiars red compounding pad with it and loved how smooth and fast it was. sure will cut the detailing time down. now i just gotta see how it works with a 5" backing and pads

It really is a nice machine for the weekend warrior. A definite step up from the PC 7424.

The GG6 has more torque than the HF, less vibration and a lifetime warranty.

the 5" plate and thin pads might provide you with a better experience. Megs has thin pads, as does Lake Country (and maybe Buff n Shine?)

I love my GG6, it`s my first and only polisher. I can do everything I want with it, my only gripe is that I wish that it had some degree of forced rotation, otherwise its size, weight, and power produce stellar results.

I agree, I recently picked up the latest body style of the HF 6" polisher and the gen 3 GG6 is noticeably smoother at all speed ranges and less noisy as well. I wouldn`t want to be doing any long term polishing at higher speeds with the HF. The discount deals floating out there that they have going with the GG6 makes it an incredible value.

    Re: GG6 Review

I love my GG6! Doing some awesome work on a big, black work truck today and tomorrow with it.
Here is a 50/50 I took while compounding. Don`t even need a light to clearly see the difference. Both sides are totally clean and decontaminated.

And another spot with a light...

This truck had some decals removed and I was called in to clean up the mess from years of abuse, and the very aggressive graphic removal that entailed acetone and plastic scrapers. Those plastic scrapers were "soft, and no in way scratched the paint." Yeah....it`s funny when people who know so much about cars think they know detailing and surface care lol
