    Aluminum Work Platform

Just bought this yesterday. Why I waited so long I have no idea . The thing is awesome!!

Four feet long and made of aluminum so its only 12 pounds. Holds up to 300 pounds!!! $27 bucks at Home Depot.

Used it today for getting to the roof of my SUV. Makes a great work bench (and polisher holder) as well!

Just be careful if you polish with it.
I`ve been too involved with my work and walked off mine moving sideways two different times.
AND slipped off one time when washing. So I suggest you put some grip tape like others have also.
After the second spill I bought one with handles on each side.

they`re great, as already mentioned, exercise caution during use. I`ve almost stepped off while polishing roofs and they can become a bit slippery when wet so make sure you got shoes with solid grip and add some grip tape to it for extra safety. I haven`t yet but I need to

    Re: Aluminum Work Platform

Hey, it`s interesting that you got yours today. I applied some anti-slip tape to one of my five platforms very similar to this one. (Mine aren`t as sturdy. They support either 225 or 250 pounds.)

I`ve had my eye on these since 2011 and every year they`ve dropped down to US$18-20 during the holidays.

I don`t believe tape is the way to go, at least not the tape I`m using. The tape rolled up on the first platform I tried to enhance. Today I put down a bunch of Gorilla Glue under the anti-slip adhesive strips, and got it all over my hands in the process.

I`m going to treat my three that don`t have tape to Optimum`s new bedliner or to Herculiner.

Yes these things are awsome especially for suv`s. As far as the handles go, how much does a beast like that cost? Also, do the handles make it difficult or unwieldy to move around or do you find that it aids in movement. Also most of the platforms like this i have seen have some little steps built into the end, how does that work out with handles?

    Thanks

I think I bought a Amazon Warehouse deal for a few bucks less since the box was damaged. They go for around $120

Those are quite affordable compared to the somewhat larger ones I have.

Don`t know how people detail trucks/SUVs/etc. without them, I even find mine useful on sedans and I`m a little over 5`9".

I`m a big fan of having a few of them. I usually get by OK with four, but when I had the Yukon XLD I used all five every time.
