Re: Aluminum Work Platform
My Home Depot has them for $49.98 This if only the 250lb capacity. I do know my 300+ pound brother inlaw has used it without any problems. Not Sure if there are regional price fluctuations.

Re: Aluminum Work Platform
I have two Werner`s that I`ve been using for years.
For an SUV roof I put then end-to-end on one side and I can walk down the side.
I use `em for a quick table for machines/polish etc.
They are very handy. Just be sure to lock the legs.
Re: Aluminum Work Platform
been using them since 2003 when i bought my van :notme:

Re: Aluminum Work Platform
Merlin- Ah, OK...yeah, those are smaller. Gee, seems like I`m still the only guy here using the ones I have, let alone five of `em (OK, seldom use the fifth since selling the Yukon XLD).
I still don`t know how you guys keep from slipping on the aluminum surface...put down friction-media? Mine get soaked with water and slick suds and even with their friction-media-coated plywood they can be trecherous when doing the countless up/down.
Re: Aluminum Work Platform
has anyone used the one from Harbor fright ? I see it for sale around $20 If I remember correctly. I have not personally seen it. It skips my mind when I go there.
Re: Aluminum Work Platform
I have 3 from Harbor Freight. 2 of them are higher and longer than the 3rd one. They have been fine. Plenty strong. I weigh 195 lbs.

I Use Skateboard Grip tape. You can buy it in squares, precut sheets or in a roll.
Since I am an old fat guy who also Skates. I have plenty laying around the house. Grip tape is pretty inexpensive and holds so much better than the strips you can buy at hardware stores. The brand I prefer is $6.00 for a 9x36 inch sheet. The Depot has 2x180 inch roll for $10.

I prefer Madrid Fly paper. It is a nice medium coarse paper. Been using Flypaper since the 80`s. If you want something really coarse they have one called the Thumbcutter. It is very coarse and even comes with a bandaid as a joke.

Grip tape is a must when using these work platforms!

Glad to see someone else that skates here. I am more of a mob person myself nowadays. I grew up on free jessup. Once jessup gets a little dirty there is hardly any grip.

I agree, jessup is worthless. I have had good luck with mob. There is just something about fly paper that I love. It just works!
Re: Aluminum Work Platform
OK, as long as you`re applying *something* to provide better traction.
