    Dear Friends,

I had to wait until I had the payment all cleared. I was contacted by a large factory that produces Cobra Towels. Apparently, a buyer changed to a new vendor, but had 3500 new 16x24" polishing towels in the factory. These are blue with the nice edges. I had samples shipped to me for inspection. They feel luxurious. The factory tells me this is known as the "miracle" Cobra towel. They offered me a great deal and I took it.

In about 25 days, they should be in my possession. Obviously, I do not need that many for detailing (I have privately sold about 2000 of them thus far). If any of you are interested, I`ll sell them at $3.00 per towel if you buy 10 or or more at time. They sell for 9.99 each on some sites and many of you know this towel.

You will need to email me your name and shipping address and the amount of towels you wish to order. My goal is to get them in and out pretty quickly, while keeping some for detailing and selling locally for much more per towel. I will NOT collect any payment until they are a week from delivery. Even then, they might be sold so there is no guarantee. I have a detailer in Canada that might take 2000 of the 3500.

Heck, even 3D might want them all!

    More later, Rob

It reads like a spam email. If it was from Nigeria, it would be even more suspicious. If you are trying to say these are the same towels as what I think you mean, how can you proof it. You can go to the far east and get a $15 rolex.

    Bunky,

Fair enough question and I did not mean to indicate it`s spam. I deal with two factories for our towels. While asking about pricing on our next shipment for waffle weave, my salesperson emailed me that I might be interested in these Cobra Towels. I am not going to list the company that usually has these made, but they gave me enough details that I am confident + I have the samples right here and just sent two to Renny Doyle to inspect.

You have to understand that some companies are upselling these towels 1000%!!! I do not buy from a US importer- I do all of this on my own. I know what the prices are. For example, and I do not need to share this, because some of you know that I am an honest person (My primary job is in education, not sales). My recent quote for a 20 x 40" ww towel, 320 gsm weight with suede edge is 1.72 per towel CIF Los Angeles. I will incur about .17 per towel in other fees, but the need to sell this towel for $12 is simply ridiculous!

There are a few large factories in Asia and those in the US that state "our towels" simply put a label on the towel and have it shipped.

There is NO pressure to buy them. I have already sold 2000 in presales to my customers, but simply wanted to share with fellow Autopians- I`ve been a member for years. On my site, they will be about $5 per towel, but why not give nice people here a great deal?

    Legacy,

Good question. I saw some listings in "for sale" and that is how I viewed this. I am not "selling" as a company, however. If I was, the price would be 2x or more per towel for what I listed. I "chat roomed" last night with David, Ben, and Barry- made it very clear how I viewed this situation. That said, I did as, David to send me the info on the sponsorship option. Hope to get that this weekend.
