Are you sure you didn`t order shoe polish. lol

That`s very odd. I don`t know if I would use the brown or not.. Maybe someone else will chime in..

You could always PM Mike Phillips from Autogeek. He`s the expert on Meguiar`s products, and has more #16 cans than just about anyone.

To me that looks ok. When I did the double boiler method on my cans, they would go through gradual color changes, eventually ending up at the dark purple stage when hot and fully liquefied. I Let them cool w/o lids for about a day and a half, and they are as good as new. I dunno about the brown though. Neither in your pics look brown to me, just dark blue and purple.

You should be fine. You guys have to remember, wax hardly ever goes bad. Especially sealed in these containers. If it changes color or gets pudding like, double boil it, let it cool, you should be ok.

Yeah, and if your gun(s?) jams, you can throw a wax can at them...that would leave a nasty lump...

Here is another comparison to think about.

I double boiled both my cans and put one on the cool garage floor to set up and put one into the refrigerator and the one in the fridge looks wayyy better than the other. I bet at the factory they cool them so they will set up quicker before being boxed up.
