You can get the non-heated version at Target or Walmart for around $70-$80. I have had a hard time finding the heated version.

I picked up a heated one at walmart about a month ago. It was right around $90. It was actually the pet model. I think the only thing different is it comes with a sample bottle of the pet oder solution.

Isn`t that the Spot Bot? That one seems to have a built-in scrubber and is a bit different than the basic LGCM.

Nope, it`s the LGCM. The same one that was linked to above from Amazon. I couldn`t figure out why it said "Pet" model on it but when I got home and found the 8oz sample of the pet solution I kind of laughed. The marketing department must have been grasping straws for a way to update it. They did have the Spot Bot at Walmart also but I`m not sure how that would work for what we use them for.

I believe I got my heated LGCM at Target (this was a couple of years ago) but last time I looked (which was a while ago) the Spot Bot seemed to have replaced it, and you`re right, it seems like it would be pretty unworkable for a car except on mats that you had removed. Like everything else, from soft drinks on up, there seems to be no end to the variation used for whatever slight marketing advantage might be gained, and the stores are hard pressed to carry all the variations.

No problem. They are getting harder to find for sure. Like you mentioned it seems the Spot Bot is being pushed as perhaps a future replacement for the LGCM.

I just heat my own water... I`m sure its hotter than the LGM can do.

Kohl`s had a special on LGM (non-heated model) this weekend so I was looking at them. I was reading the manual and basically it is small wet/dry vac with a built-in sprayer.



I know it has better attachments than a Shop-Vac but would just having a separate sprayer with solution and a shop vac be basically the same thing. I was considering getting it but it just did not seem like it did more than a shop vac could do except for having a heated reservoir. I can see it has in the house uses too for upholstery but still looking for that must have feature to convince myself to get it.

I have both a shop vac and a LGCM unheated, and between the two I still prefer the LGCM, although if I had a choice I`d have a real hot water extractor. The main reason why I feel the LGCM has a slight edge over a shop vac is because of its small hand tool. First, it`s clear so you can see if what you`re pulling up is dirty or clean.



I can`t speak about a rigid because I know they have a really small attachment meant for cars, but on Shop Vacs and Craftsman, the normal attachment you would use for your car is still bigger than the LGCM`s attachment. What I mean by "bigger" is the volume it sucks up. It`s like drinking from a straw vs. using an oversized big plastic tube. While the big plastic tube can move more fluid, it also requires more power to lift the fluid. So in that sense, even though the LGCM`s motor might not be all that powerful, I feel the unit as a whole is better optimized for water lift vs. using a shop vac.
