    Mercedes Benz Wood Trim Care

I used Aerospace 303 on my Mercedes wood trim - Not Good

I used a soft terry cloth towel but ended up with fine scratches

What product should I use and what sould I use to apply

I bought the car in Orlando FL from a Mercedes Benz dealer

Car was in great condition but dirty - Left it there three days because they raved about their detail service - upon pickup everything was dirty

They amitted bad job left it another day - same result - it looked like it was never touched

Left it another day - JUst as bad - Gave up

Brilant silver - What should I use for wax and do I need to strip before I apply

There is nothing abrasive in 303 Areospace Protectant, it is a slippery liquid, so it is highly unlikely that Areospace was the cause the fine scratches. It was either from the towel or the scratches were present prior to use.

You can use something like Meguiar`s Ultimate Compound to attempt to hand polish the scratches away. Apply it with a foam applicator pad.

Most high-quality wood is actually clear coated, similar to paint. So paint polishes will work well. We actually used BLACKFIRE polishes (IIRC) and a Porter Cable Polisher to polish the wood finish on this Maybach to a swirl/scratch free high gloss.

I would recommend BLACKFIRE Wet Diamond All Finish Paint Protection for your wax/sealant. For best results, use BLACKFIRE Gloss Enhancing Polish first. BFGEP (for short) will clean the paint and prime it for the sealant, no other stripping is necessary.

A good chemical based polish is what I use. OTC Megs Deep Crystal paint cleaner will work.

Poorboys, Pro-polish or the one I like most is Novus. They make plastic polishes and that`s there only line.

What you don`t want is a polish with an abrasive in it

I would suggest Pledge. Works great on dash and wood trim. Good luck

Most automotive wood trim is clear coated so standard polishing compounds will work perfectly!
