What camera do you use?

im in the market as well, tired of this kodak easyshare point and shoot, thinking of getting one of those full size point and shoots where it has a good bit of manual adjustment and different lens addon`s albeit not a full lens but atleast theres some customization. thinkin about a kodak easyshare D7590,easyshare D6490, or a easyshare Z710.. i just need something that takes higher quality pictures then a P&S camera with some addon accessories made, and manual settings. i dont need a dslr, but i do want one lol. they do have a nikon D1 local to me for cheap but its size is way too big.

Check out the Nikon P500 it`s an incredible camera.

Get a feel for the camera in store, then go online to buy.
If you don`t feel like searching all around the internet for the best deal, check the front page of Slickdeals: The Best Deals, Coupons & Discounts on Laptops, Computers, LCDs, TVs, Dell, HP, Apple, Amazon a couple times a day. It seems there is always a good camera on the front page. It`s an invaluable website for finding a bargain.

We have been taking our pictures with the Canon SX1xx IS series point & shoot. We had an SX100 for several years until my b-i-l dropped it on a bulkhead on our cruse in October. We replaced that with the current model SX150 (street price about $200). We also picked up the previous model, SX130, for $99 at Target on closeout at Christmas! These camera take nice pictures and have lots of automatic and manual settings.
Many reviews complain about the battery life on these cameras, but I really like the fact that it uses AA batteries instead of a built in. You may have to swap out the batteries more often, but you can pick up a spare almost any where in the world! We use rechargeable AA`s and have a car charger just in case.

Well I ended up going with a Fuji Finepix S2950. After noticing the great price and awesome pic quality at Walmart, I got an even better deal on ebay so I pulled the trigger. 14mp, 18x zoom, etc. For $150 I think its worth it. Thanks for all the input and suggestions guys.

I just purchased a Canon 60D as an upgrade to the 30D I have been using.

My other hobby is photography. As new to these forums I am surprised how many others have the photobug also. Having "the eye must be true in detailing just as it is in photography heh?

I got up early this morning and finally got to play with the new camera before heading out for work. Im still learning all of the settings and what does what basically, so dont flame me too bad lol.

I have a couple really in depth details booked to do soon, and Im planning on practicing a lot more with the new camera before then. Im definitely taking a lot of pics of the work

I have to highly recommend that you visit your local Library and check out Understanding Exposure by Bryan Peterson. He has some youtube videos also, he also has a few other books. Once you get the idea of how to expose a creativly proper exposure you are off to the races.

Thanks Ill check him out. Im still learning all of the presettings and basic features of the camera. Ive only taken maybe 2 dozen pics with it so far, most of which turned out decent (for me). Im not trying to become a pro by any means. I mostly just want to get better pics of my work, and of course family stuff, bike races, etc.
