I`ll speak UNO if you like. I bought it, used it, threw it away.

I`m really surprised that a detailers with the name recognition are associated with that brand but that`s just my personal opinion.

The important thing is that you are free to discuss whatever you like, or don`t like and it`s OK. Autopia.org may be the same way, I don`t know because I just don`t go there since the whole month long virus fiasco and the response from 3D admins after they finally got around to addressing the issue. By then it was too late for me to ever want to be a part of that.

I will say that AutopiaForums to me is more in line with David Bynon`s original version of Autopia.org, Dwayne`s original vision of Detail City and Max`s foresight of AutopiaForums.

Acquiring Todd Helmes and merging TID gave a nice boost and what I see is a thriving and growing forum.

I`m a bit confused.... what exactly is the problem you have with "that brand"?

What I will say, is that the person you mentioned is someone who seems to have a great deal of integrity and I honestly don`t believe he would associate himself with or stand behind a product unless he was getting good results with it.

Autopia.org IS the same way; frankly things have come a long way over there since the virus debacle and the 3D admin who is currently in place is excellent to deal with. You`re missing out by not visiting there.

Well said Charlie. The Autopia.org virus fiasco is what motivated me to seek other forums, and eventually led me to TID. But that`s way in the past now and I`ve found myself going back more and more often. I always enjoyed TID`s "family" atmosphere, which seems to carry on here, but the Big A has such a broad range of members that you can learn a ton over there as well.

And FWIW, I`ve only used the newest version of UNO which supposedly lost the teething issues of the first couple of versions. It seems pretty good to me. Any new product will experience growing pains, but they`ve come out with two new versions in a hurry. In other words, they responded to feedback quickly, which is commendable.

I found the sealant HD Poxy to streak and was hard to remove and yes, I followed the directions on the bottle and it was in my climate controlled garage. I don`t remember the other names of the products I tried but it reminded me of Granitize, which I`m not too fond of.

They all can`t be winners but you should give it a try and see if it works for you. If it does, great. If it doesn`t, then you and I will agree on something.

Re: What`s the difference between AutopiaForums and...

I have cleaned up some name mentioning in this thread. I would ask everybody to work together and continue to build this community as a place with open product discussion and information sharing. The support of this forum as it continues to grow is so much appreciated (you guys have NO idea how grateful I am to have so many quality members who continue to contribute in record numbers).

A forum is not made by the name, by me, by the company that owns it, but by the contributions and quality of its forum members! So lets keep spreading the knowledge and experience with those who are interest in learning or contributing.

Thank you guys so much for making autopiaFORUMS what it is

You missed two, Todd (check the quotes of my post in mikenap`s message and then in jammerz101`s message)

If you`re not impressed with UNO or Poxy that`s fine by me -- honestly they`re not on the top of my list of go-to products either; but I don`t think it`s fair to trash-talk an entire brand and/or the people associated with it just because you aren`t too fond of two of their products. That`s all I was getting at.

To a certain extent that`s true, but it IS up to the "powers that be" what is allowed or disallowed, and it is also largely up to the head cheese to be a driving force behind the style of interactions that go on within the boundaries of a given forum. There has been a marked change in the tone and steering of conversation within this site since you, PBMG, and the re-branding to AutopiaForums came along. Not saying it`s good, bad, or indifferent, just pointing out that changes have happened which are not entirely due to the contributions of members left to their own devices.

So yes, I think the members of the community are absolutely an essential element, but never lose sight of the important role those at the top play as well (not that you would, Todd, but you get my point).

Well said Charlie! I`m glad you spend time on both forums, (for those that ain`t figured this out) I`m Junebug - one of the moderators on Autopia.org

I like to visit here cause I admire Todd and his contribution to detailing. Years ago, when i was just starting out, he was already one of the guys that everybody looked up to. I sent a pm to him and shortly I got a reply "what`s your number man?" I replied and Todd called me, we talked detailing for an hour. I felt like I had just been educated way beyond what i would find on my own. I was glad when he ran TID and even more so now that he is here. I have no axe to grind with PBMA, still order from them for certain things, as well as I order from 3D.

It`s easy to get into a pissing match over who`s better and nothing wrong with having an opinion. Me? I like both forums and the owners/admins and mods on both do a fantastic job in my opinion.

Well said, it has always boggled my mind how one group of forum members thinks they are different or better than another. Its far to common... We all love detailing, make money at it, or both... regardless of what forums we frequent. And most importantly (in the words of the Black Eyed Peas) "We`re all just people" Yea, I quoted them.

Yes but there are "haters" out there bashing someone (was David B now AG) at appropriate opportunities.
