That’s a bummer. I just Blackfired our Subaru this past weekend and dropped it off for it’s 15k service at the dealer this morning. They have washed the car in the past and so I was gonna make sure and mention it to the service clerk. After reading your post I did that as well as putting a sticky note on the instrument cluster.

That really sucks Al. I know how you feel, it`s makes you very upset to know that all your hard work is ruined by some slacked jawed wash boy.:down I would have a few not so nice words with their service manager, especially since you specifically told them not to wash it. Some peoples` incompetence in regards to their job is truly amazing, I wonder how they keep themselves from getting fired.
Taking my signature to it`s MAXIMUM POTENTIAL
This happened to me multiple times. I was really upset since it was just after I had the car looking perfect and had about 4-5 coats of zaino on it. I only had it about month at the time. I basically had to use SMR and start the process over it was swirled up so bad.
I always bring the car to the dealer when it is clean after a wash so I can inspect for dents and dings more easily that they might of put in. The car was so clean and detailed I am surprised they did wash it for it looked better when I brought it in than after they washed it.
Anyhow, talk to the service manager....he might give you a credit for a detail.....pass on that and use the credit for a tint job or alarm install,etc,etc......
Someone needs to make a "DO NOT WASH THIS CAR" steering wheel cover, sorta like the covers they make for spare tires. Everyone here would buy them.
I agree or the dealership work order should have a space for
"DO NOT WASH AFTER SERVICE!!!!" If checked no washing will occur. If so the dealership would and should be held liable for damages. The verbal relaying does not seem to work.
I might just make out a form on word that the service manager has to sign before you release your car to them. Heck, they make you sign a bunch of times! It should be easy enough...

exactly what I was telling them in the chatroom last night.....
I made one that I taped to my steering wheel. You guessed it, they didnt wash it. :up
Al - forgive me if I`m thoroughly confused, but I thought you worked at a Mercedes dealer?? I could be way wrong, and apologize if I am, but if you do work at MB, why would you go elsewhere for service?
Just curious and possibly confused.

I think he said he worked for a toyota dealer
You`re probably right...see, I told you I was confused!
It`s toyota!
I hate the swirl wash, I am very clear with my SA, that if washed, things could get nasty!

Al, I would think you would know better.
My dealers car wash is a automatic one. I tape my sign to my rear view mirror (cause everyone has to look there at least once when moving the car)
better luck next time
