    It looks like the backing plate might have cut into it. I haven`t had it happen myself, but I know David Fermani has had that problem.

    I do have to admit the backing plate seems deadly, its REALLY sharp. But as long as it still works i will conitue using it. I have a foam backing plate for my rotary and i will see if it happens with another pad.

    foam bp

    i have been impressed with the foam bp recently. they seem very user friendly and with the cost of pads thats appreciated. your bp looks like an australian hunting weapon for the outback.

    It should still work fine, but this is the reason I prefer the hydro-tech pads.

    I have some hydro-tech pads aswell. Ive heard that you need to have a few of those in order to switch around when doing a car. That if the pad creates too much heat the velcro will come loose off the pad. Thats why i havent used mines yet, i want to buy a few more sets to do a whole car. The finish ive seen from hydro tech pads is just amazing.
