The mercedes dealer actually questioned me why I didn`t want my car washed! He was like, is there a reason you don`t want it washed? I said do you know what the 2 bucket wash method is, he paused and looked at me... then he said good enough reason for me. LOL. Anyway, other than that mercedes has great service. They gave me a 2002 C-class with 500 miles as a loaner! woohoo! BTW Chris, I love your car .

    I wish they asked me!!!

MB dealership washed my wifes car recently and I had water stained windows, and bacon grease wheel wet all over the sides of the car by the time she got home. I washed the car that following morning!

My dealer doesn`t even ask anymore. Last time I was in, the service manager greeted me by name and immediately placed his "DO NOT WASH" sign on my windshield. He said "You have the cleanest car that comes in here. Even the oil is clean when we change it." Sure made me feel good, since this is the first car I`ve ever not done all my own service on.

At least they listen to you, I gotta tell them like 40 times and I REALLY need to keep an eye on people moving my car. Not bragging or anything but it`s a fast car and they have alot of toyta`s and stuff, front wheel drive cars or SUV`s so when those guys (in there 30`s and 40`s) get my car it`s like "hey bobby, remember the super sports back in the day, wanna see me spin these tires like the good old days"... got the putting there paw prints all over my car and stuff. So far no one has driven her hard or peeled off but I don`t know, the grins on their faces when they get in really scare me.

If your service work was done at Herb Chambers Motorcars, ask then if they would wash your Mercedes with the same care as they would wash Herb`s <strong class=`bbc`><span style=`color: blue`>McClaren F1![/b]

Thats funny you bring that up, I may want another job and the man who owns Herb Chambers is a good friend of my buddys boss. I heard the stories about how the top MA dealers try to out-do each other with buying cars for themselves. Long story but you reminded me of that car.

Herb just raised the stakes a little bit...he`s been advertising in the Bosoton Sunday Globe and the Aviation trade papers for a pilot for his new <strong class=`bbc`><span style=`color: blue`>Lear 45 bizjet[/b] to be stationed in Boston!

Last year, the Boston Sunday Globe had a story on Herb Chambers and how he got started in the car biz. I don`t begrudge him...he made his money the old fashioned way...he <strong class=`bbc`><span style=`color: green`>earned it![/b] He was asked why he drove a <strong class=`bbc`><span style=`color: red`>$1 Million handcrafted McClaren F1[/b] to his offices in Boston from his home in Lime Rock, Connecticut.

    His answer?

    <strong class=`bbc`>because my helicopter was being serviced![/b]

Wow. To be that rich is not even comprehendable. That blows my mind. If I had a McLaren F1, I would hire one of my fellow Autopians to be my full time McLaren F1 detailer!
