megs nxt 2.0 or #20 how long will they last?

Anyone ever try this? I saw a post on another board from a guy who is VERY knowledgeable about car maintenance[/i] and he recommended Soft Scrub (the one w/o bleach) to remove wax residue from black trim.

Ran a search, but came up with nada. Any experiences?

If this is the stuff I`m thinking about, it comes in a pump spray bottle. If no one has tried it, I may have to stop at the grocery store on the way just to look a the label.

P.S. - The simple fact that I will probably go out of my way today to read a label scares me. Am I obsessed? :p

It depends on what you are cleaning off the windows. I found this el cheapo foaming window stuff at Auto Zone about a month ago and that stuff has worked great. If you are trying to get water spots off, though, you might want to use the vinegar because that really does work well. RainX used to make a really great glass cleaner but I haven`t seen it for a long time. It was really abrasive like Soft Scrub or something and it cleaned the outside great.

What surface is this that you are trying to remove wax residue from? Cracks between trim, flat plastic trim, or what?

... when it comes to residue:

1 - On and around two smooth vinyl strips that run down each side of the roof. (Not window weatherstipping. This is something strange that Volvo does. Both strips are on the roof about 3 inches from the edge.)

2 - On and around the textured (kind of pebbly, if that`s a word), flat-black plastic strips at the "drip line" down the side of the car.

Yeah. That`s what I`m using on the vinyl on the roof. The textured stuff on the side is the real bear. No matter how careful I try to be with the PC, I seem to hit it a few times. I guess I`d better give up on a short cut and break out the peanut butter!

I read another tip from somewhere.

Go get a drafting eraser...They are a soft white rubber...Preferable the ones in a pencil type clicker thingy.

And erase it away. I hjave not tried it but heck I do not think it could do damage??:nixweiss

Haven`t heard this one before, but will give it try and post results. I`m like you, don`t see where it could hurt anything.
