I have a white Acura and I got the #20 before I got Klasse. I applied the #20 and then a layer of gold class. I am a huge mequiar`s fan too. When I got the Klasse I took it all off and started over. Now I have more than a dozen layers of klasse and 7 or 8 layers of Pinnacle Paste Glaz carnuba and it looks soooooooooo much better than when it was just the #20 and gold class. It is probably because of how many layers of Klasse that I have but I noticed a difference the first day I applied the Klasse. I use the #20 for wheels and doors and stuff. It looks great but there is no comparison to what Klasse looks like.

I used the #20 and PPG on my mother-in-law`s white Intrepid and it looked good but when you put my Acura next to hers it makes her car look yellow in comparison. I love Klasse sooooooooo much. My car is blindingly white in the sun.

You can definitely improve the look of #20 by applying a carnauba over it. Trust us. It works! Laters

I agree absolutely - I use #20 topped with Gold Class (which I have heard also has cleaners, I`m not too sure of this personally, thought it was a straight wax? might have to switch to #26 if GC does have cleaners) and I like the added shine..... its almost like the 20 gives it gloss and the GC adds depth to that gloss.

here`s pics of my ride which was prepped using this process:

personally I did use #7 first and am of the oppinion that it did improve the overall quality in the end.... especially when I applied it via PC on speed `6`.:up

<strong class=`bbc`>a couple of more points on #20 and medallion...

they`re well aware of the hype surrounding zaino and maintain that #20 is their equivalent product and that it will last equally as long (same goes for medallion).

both #20 and medallion have UV protection (I think some people might be under the impression that Zaino has this and others may not).

the one thing he did say about #20 (and I already know about medallion) is that it will leave a white residue on black plastic trim unlike zaino (which apparently doesn`t). but then there`s always the peanut butter trick. [/b]</blockquote>
That`s real interesting. I wish that Meguiars people on the phones would get the story straight. Back in December I emailed them, and got this response back:

    Len,

Thank you for your message and your interest in our products. That is
not true. There are no cleaners in the product to strip off wax. I would
actually recommend applying two coats onto your vehicle.
If you have any other questions feel free to write in at any time. If you
would like to talk to me personally, you can call me at 1-800-854-8073 ext.

Subject: Does No.20 Polymer Sealant have a cleaner in it????
    Importance: High

I am a very big fan of the Mirror Glaze No. 20 Polymer Sealant. I`ve used it
for years, and I like it much better than any other product, except for the
No. 27 in paste wax form, which is a close second.

Recently, on some message boards, someone posted that the No. 20 has a mild
cleaner in it, and that cleaner makes it futile to try putting down
multiple coats of the No. 20.

Is this true? I seem to get better results from putting down two coats of
No. 20 than one coat, but if that`s my imagination, then I`ll just keep
putting down one coat. I love the longevity of the No. 20 in the Winter
    around here in Detroit.

Please let me know whether the Polymer Sealant has a cleaner in it. Thanks!!

    Regards,
    Len Agius

Damn, I wish they`d get their story straight. Great products (the Professional Series, anyway), but confusing as hell sometimes.

I use No. 26 as a topper on No. 20 all the time. It works great.

I`m also with <strong class=`bbc`>SLPCar Luvr[/b]: No. 7 works extremely well right before No. 20.

That`s pretty discouraging. I have heard from other people with conflicting stories from Maguiar`s representitives. I don`t know who or what to believe now.

Whatever looks good and protects! If someone tries it and it works, I`ll trust that more than what a Meguiar`s rep. says.

Meguiar`s customer service is excellent when it comes to the types of questions that are asked commonly, like "Is Gold Class wax glossier than #26?" or "should I do #7 or #9 first to prep my paint?"

But once I asked them about the diminishing abrasives in their Body Shop Professional Dual Action Polish and also what the difference was between BSP Swirl-Free polish and SMR 2.0 and basically the person didn`t know and told me I shouldn`t be using their BSP line unless I work in a body-shop. I guess a lot of it would depend on which rep happens to answer your call.

<strong class=`bbc`>Cliff330i [/b] - I`ll tell you, I`ve been using No. 20 for over 12 years. On my parents car, I apply it twice, and with their driving it about 12000 miles a year here in Detroit, and their washing habits (rince the car thourghly but try to conserve "expensive water" anyway, and taking it in the winter through whatever commercial car wash is handy) I get <strong class=`bbc`>at least [/b]six months to a year out of it, and on my cars I get six to twelve months out of two to three coats of No. 20. As far as teh No. 7 - I still like using it after the No. 9, and before the No. 20. Works great for me, especially now with the PC.

As far as using the No. 26 as a topper - go ahead and do it. It <strong class=`bbc`>can`t hurt[/b] and on medium to dark paint, it looks great.

The one thing that is certain is that you can`t hurt the car trying it out.

<strong class=`bbc`>Intermezzo330I[/b] is also 100% right. The answers you get out of customer service (any customer service for that matter) depends on who you get on the phone.

Len, I agree totally. Can`t hurt to try. I am beginning to believe those who have tried combinations and are getting results rather than what is "supposed" to happen per Maguiar`s reps. Thanks.

why not just bypass the #20 + #26 and head straight for Medallion?

Because the No. 20 outlast the Medallion by a long time. I`ve never had Medallion last more than a month, maybe a month and a half. Then it just stops beading water. Six months is the <strong class=`bbc`>least[/b] I`ve had No. 20 last. Even the No. 26 in paste form outlasts Medallion.

hmmm.... my experience is different. I find that medallion lasts 3-4 months, as stated by Meguiar`s. it may have something to do with the car wash that we use. I buy #62 by the gallon, which is supposed to have paint conditioners in it.

I tend to neglect our Subaru Forester more (washing it an average of once every 3 weeks) than the BMW. the Subaru started showing signs of needing a fresh coat of wax at about 3+ months. but I let it go for another 1 or 2 before actually waxing it again. in fact, when I waxed it last weekend (after about 5 months) it still beaded water while I was washing it.

sounds like a clasic case of "YMMV."

I know there seems to be a little mistrust around here for statements made by their tech support but they did tell me that Medallion is their best broduct and that it is a polymer + their best carnauba in one product. #20 is supposed to be a step down from Medallion as it is a srtaight polymer (presumably the same one as in Medallion) but they both are supposed to last equally as long. this is according to Meguiar`s anyway.

did you use medallion a long time ago. I know that initially the product was rumored to be mediocre at best but the stuff that you get now is supposed to be much better. if you have a friend with a recently purchased bottle, perhaps you can give it another try. if you`re in the SF bay area, I`ll glady give you a some to try.

I still have had the No. 20 last at least 6 months. They told me the same thing - that Medallion was their best product, but one of their reps did tell me that alot of it is personal preference (<strong class=`bbc`> NO!![/b] Really?!?!?! LOL!!), and that what works well for one person doesn`t satisfy another (<strong class=`bbc`> Really??!!??[/b] ).

Smelled great, but I still didn`t like the fact that it didn`t last as long as the No. 20. I didn`t think that the shine was any better than the No. 26 either.

well, in my case, the meguiar`s support person that I spoke to volunteered (before knowing that both of my cars were white) that he prefers the #20 on his white car. If I don`t completely switch to Zaino or Klasse, I`ll be replentishing with #20. zaino is really tempting at this point but a lot more money than the meguiar`s.
